Nel's first go round with Aero, sooo done with soil

Well I figure I'd start this thread even though I still haven't wrapped up my soil grow.

Ok so straight to the point, I'm fed up with hand watering Ump-teen plants by hand, buying mix and then throwing it out ect. More money and more waste. So here I go on my Cherry popping first serious attempt. I have dabbled in a bit of hydro before but nothing serious.

So I am doing StinkBuds aero/nft setup along with his cloner. Very much thanks and apreciation to StinkBud for the info.

So I have had a couple issues right of the bat with the cloner dripping out the side. I'm working on it at the moment. If I don't resolve it by tonight I'm just going to buy a coleman cooler and make one out of it.

I'm also using the timer for the cloner and Flowering setup. I'm going to put them right into flowering from the cloner. Once I get the hang of things I'll use the veg unit also.

But besides that all is going pretty smooth and I'm pumped to get this ball rolling. :mrgreen:

is the cloner just a bubble cloner or is it an aerocloner? I was looking at containers when I was at target the other day thinkin about switching over to hydro soon but still not wild on the idea of all the wasted water. guess its not a waste but you just gotta change it a lot and it ends up being more nutes too so idk lol that little bit I had left of the gxd samp has got me ramblin ;-)

It's an aero cloner as well. StinkBud says he only changes out the Res every 3 weeks. We'll see how it goes. :blsmoke:

I was reading a couple things bout guys changing their res every other day :shock:

I just started dabbling around with this myself. Im growing lettuce in the aeroponic bin for now until I get the hang of it. (you can see some pics in my albums)
Keep us updated, im interested in just how much faster the growth rate is and how often you end up stabalizing your water res.

Also, if you tape some plastic (about3-4 inches wide) around the inside of the lid so it hangs just into the inner walls of your reservoir. That should stop most if not all of your water leaks. Hers an example of the inside of mine. I can shoot a better pic if you need it.

I have some plants almost to finish in the flower system actually I just took two colas from one. But my comment is about the cloner.

I thought I was done with dirt too but decided to run a couple with my harvests. The cloner works perfect, as soon as you see the little tap roots shooting out, take it out of the netcup and plant it in dirt. I think it would work with any system, fairly cheap to build and so far in 3 runs of 36 clones I have lost 0. What I do is kill a shit load of clones for lack of room

Thanks for the advice but I didn't build the cloner because I have cloning problems, it's because I'm all done with soil, well inside anyway :bigjoint:

Ok a little update on the cloner

All leaking has stopped, not sure why but it works for me. All the clones look mint. I'm so pumped and can't wait to fill the aero setup.

Just peeked in there and some already have roots. I put in a jalepeno cutting too and it has the longest roots so far. Just got some new bud so I'm off to sample it at my bro in laws place. When I get back hopefully I'll uplaod some pics. Until then... PEACE

So my cloner has continued to leak. I must be retarded because I can't get the plastic to work either. I went out and got a cooler on my way home. Going to hit Home Depot right now to make a shorter manifold for the sprayers. Here's the pic that gave me the idea. Unfortunately I can't remember who on this site made it, but props to whoever you are. I'll get picks up as soon as I'm done glueing.

Ok here's mine finally. Why does it always take 3 trips to HD. oh yeah :weed:

Any way I did upgrade. The cooler you could move full if you wanted too, and it doesn't leak. I had 23 and had to let 2 go. This one holds 21. I have a jalpeno plant in there too. I added 5 gallons of water and 150 ml of clonex.
