Negative ions?

I am about to buy a mini split a/c. The model I want has a built in negative ion generator. This a/c will be in the flower room. In the past, iirc, it was recommended against using nig's as the ions penetrated into the flowers, diminishing their odor. Is still the school of thought? Thanks in advance.

Your buds will lose their odor. If you are growing for yourself, no big deal...

This will definetly lower the presence of airborne terpens (nice smelly molecules) around your plant and will thus cancel any "spacey" smell there may be in your grow room.

Don't know if it will actually lower the terpene production in the plant, though.
