Neem Oil Systemic

Just wanted to post a question about the effectiveness of using neem oil as a systemic only. I have had good results dealing with thrips by watering neem oil into my promix but this could be because they like to go into the soil and lay eggs. Just wondering if the only approach I took was to water neem oil into my plants once every three weeks (as I understand it it lasts for about 4 weeks), would this be the only thing I would have to do to prevent all bugs (even spider mites) from attacking my plants? Any info, academic or anecdotal, would be greatly appreciated. This would be a simple way for me to deal with insects and I'm sure many other people as well.

lol no one? From my research, some speculate that although neem oil is systemic, it is "deeper" in the plant than what is necessary to affect a sucking insect like spider mites. If a grasshopper or some type of insect that actually eats the leaf fed on the plant they would be affected. I am not sure if this is actually the case since I am sure that this has not been tested on marijuana but only on other types of plants. For example, I found a study from the Canadian government that stated that when applied to trees systemically, many types of insects were repelled. I am currently having success using this method against thrips but I am wondering if it is because they like to go into the soil to lay their eggs. Once they do, they come into contact with the neem and their life cycle is broken. Just wondering if anyone has tested this on marijuana to see if it affects all insects. If this is an advanced question, then the mods can move it to the advanced section but I thought it more appropriate in the bug section for obvious reasons. If I am on to something this could be beneficial to us all. Think about simply watering your soil with neem oil once every three weeks and not having to think about bugs. How convenient would that be? I am running this test right now with thrips and I can tell you I am having success so anyone else please share!!
