Im pretty paranoid about bugs, last grow my bud really suffered from spidermites. I was going to get some lady bugs. But I don't feel like dealing with more insects and i have to buy too many for what i need, like 2000 for like 50 bucks. that is too many lady bugs. But I also heard neem oil is good. what im asking is

Would I spray the neem oil directly on the plant and the buds? do i just spray it around the plant? if i spray it on the plant will the neem oil evaporate while i dry it? would i use just a spray bottle to spray it on.

Im just trying to cover everything with the bugs with out spraying something toxic on my plants. info would be much appreciated.

I use neem oil as a preventative and spray it once a day with my foliar spray. Just add your neem oil to the foliar spray in the correct dosage. If you are infected you will have to spray the bottoms of the leaves to kill the eggs, this is the whole point of spraying neem oil. If just using as a preventative I just spray the top like you are just spraying the foliar spray. The neem oil will actually give the leaves a shiny, healthy, deep green, look and will be absorbed and evaporated. Dont spray past veg.

Keeping a clean environment will help avoid bugs in general.

Know that mites can travel from crop to crop on you or a friend, especially on your shoes. So if you go to a garden that has them you will want to shower and change before going to the uninfected area.

If you are growing in the same area, you will want to clean everything as well as you can before bringing new plants in - I think with bleach you will have to more research on the cleaning method. They will hang out in there and wait for a new crop. Sometimes for weeks, especially if it is cold, they like the warm and will wait to hatch and be active again until the temp is right.
