Needs growing help

Hey guys I'm a newbie here from Australia first time growing weed need some help.
Firstly I put about 20 seeds in a cup of water and after about 2 days about 14/20 germinated so I put them in pots and with the seeds that didn't germinate I just threw them in the left over potting mix hoping that something will grow.
I have the germinated seeds in pots under a 20w compact flouro globe on 24 hours a day and read on the internet that seeds should sprout within 3 days after germination.
So I'm 4 days into having the seeds in pots and still nothing I had I quick look at one of the pots to see if anything is growing so I carefully scraped the soil away to find my seed and it looks like no change at all from when it had germinated in the cup just a little bit more open (seed). Because I read online that they should have sprouted I thought there would be some roots growing in soil but no only a small taproot from the seed.
Am I doing something wrong?
How long after being in pots should they sprout

I've had that happen a couple times also. Could be a seed viability issue.
Did you touch the seeds with your fingers when you transplanted them? Do you smoke? Did you wash your hands? Did you make sure your sprout was in a vertical position when you planted it in the soil? Did you plant the sprout to deep? Did you give it to much water? You can drown sprouts with to much water. And yes they should be popping up above the soil in 4 days.

Didn't touch the seeds with fingers, planted taproot downwards, I planted just under soil, maybe watering a little too much but would that effect it I water them??? I find my plants getting very dry because the light dries out the pots very quickly maybe every 3 hours I give them a little spray

Over watering happens some times. Idk if that's your issue. All I can say is give them 7-10 days to pop up. If they don't than there probly never will. All you can do is start over. The "Rapid Root" grow plugs are the way to go there pretty cheap and have rooting solution in the plugs.
keep your seeds in the refrigerator. Never touch them use a tweezers.
