Needs advice and tips

ok so this is my second time indoor growning and going grest the 1st time i had 12 plants with heat lamp on 24/7 and had 9 males and 3 females but right now i have one plant doing good and for some reason it smells like skunk and not even budding but my question is what can i do to make it grow quicker and what are good ways to get the plant nutrients .........its in vegative state but smells like a skunk so does that mean my plant is most likely a female i just want tips and advice i have been topping and thats going good but want tips and advice frome more experienced ppl anything helps i can put a pic if needed thanks lol
