need vents? need help!

Do you absolutly have to have intake and outtake vents? Was thinking about just using a couple fans n not really run a hose with a filter. All I want is a simple way to do this, as I'm not very expirienced with it.. My father is an expirienct "X" grower, and can't always ask him cuz he's really busy. Help would be great:)
 
Before you need vents you need lights.

This will determine what ventilation you'll be needing.

If you don't have any fresh air coming in the air you have will be stail. Plants need fresh air even in a sealed room. If you have a small op all you'll need is a window.
 
Its under the stairs. I have a small basment window ajacent to my room, I also have a chimney. So shud I buy a couple vent tubes and some fans? Run the tube out the window withthe fan suckin fresh from outside? And the exhaust tube to the chimney with the fan blowing into the chiminy??
 
hey there! ive grown numerous times w/o a proper hose vent. ive grown huge plants, and some very proper final product. just be sure to take care to understand WHY the venting is important. for example: at least keep the area open during the "lights on" period, like keep the door open if the area has one. if its anywhere nearby a window at all at least crack the window a bit. Its important to remeber the plants use CO2 and need to have the air recycled or they cant breathe. just like a human needs oxygen, a sealed room with no vent at all would suffocate you.

wind helps the plant become sturdy, thats another reason a fan is important besides the air recirculation.

the soil wont be right either if it cant breathe properly, the air will get very humid when u water and can cause mold. ive even had mushrooms grow on the tops of the soil in potted plants indoor before. lol.

Why cant you vent it out anyways, give us details so we can help more.
 
any lights bigger than cfl's or flouro's will need venting too. they get hot, especially HPS. i have a 600W and a 1000W and its very hard to keep temps right w/o proper venting thru hoses, much less doing it otherwise.
 
i will be picking up a block of "dry ice" for the c02 and put it in a small cooler with a few holes drilled in it so it has a constant supply without a tank and all that confusing stuff lol. i will have a nice size door on it that i cud probably leave open during the light on. but eventualy i want a more permanit source of fresh air as this is my first real grow. last summer i grew a couple random seeds i had and i had to rip all but one out,, blame my mom..... but the one i left was male. it grew big, but not exactly great in thc.. lol. i am also checking out sanniesshop.com i need a reliable source, i cant get any clones locally. i can vent out, but its gunna be a little tricky. how much wud like 20 feet of vent tubiing cost? with some fans for the air?

You can prob just run a small 4 inch system without the scrubber probably 100 to 150
 
Attitude seed bank for sure. Go super secret with a tshirt. I got a tshirt in my gf size and it was delicous seeds and it said fruity chronicnjuice. Pretty dope she loves it.
