Need to fertilize, but soil is soaked from rain....

Seems like I've always got something going on that seems so simple, but I'm making it harder. Last year, I over-fertilized due to having yellowed leaves that looked like the ones that show low Nitrogen, so I kept giving more fertilizer, therefore causing more yellow leaves. So, this year, I'm trying to be really careful to NOT overdo, but also don't want to under-fertilize, either. I know with weed, less is more.
We transplanted our 8" plants into large containers last Saturday and watered the heck out of them since the soil had never been watered before...... then, of course (not in the forecast), it rained 1" Sunday & Monday. Now, they're really soaked, and will be for probably a week now. The sun is out and the temps will be around 90 and then 90+. The last time I fertilized was last Wed, so a week ago tomorrow. I've been giving 1Tsp Foxfarm Big Grow once a week, and am about to up it to 2 tsp. I know I can wait, but don't want to wait TOO long.
Any advice as to if I should fertilize it while it's still a little wet, say in several days? Or, should I wait until it's almost dry and not worry so much about waiting?
thanks, as always!

A photograph would help people diagnose your situation more accurately.

I believe you should wait; let your soil dry half an inch before irrigating again. (If possible, heavy rains can be a big issue with outdoor growing).

What kind of soil did you transplant in?
Strawberry Fields fruiting & flowering.... my husband bought it & wasn't supposed to have nutrients in it. I didn't read it, just depended on him. If it doesn't, then there's no fertilizer in the big pot. But, I lean toward waiting. We had big rains two years ago...17" in May! I'll read the bag in the morning. I'm done for today.
I'll try to get a photo, too.

That soil has nutrients in it. I'd let the plants dry out before watering again.

Ingredients
This product contains 35-45% coco fobre, sphagnum peat moss, aged forest products, perlite and fertilizer (see below)

Nitrogen 0.50%
Phosphate 0.30%
Potash 0.30%
Calcium 1.00%

Derived from Earthworm Castings, Bat Guano, Oyster Shell, and Dolomite Lime.

I read the label last night. I told him to buy soil WITHOUT nutrients in it. I'm ill and can't get out on my own, so I have to depend on him....so, I can't complain. At least I won't worry about adding nutrients for now. thanks
