Need tips

Hello everybody. I've come to the conclusion that I'd like to grow, however, I'm planning on starting quite small. 1 plant maybe 2. I'd just like to be able to grow and smoke my own stuff. Anyways, I need some help on supplies. Here's what I plan on getting.

Schultz's potting soil (PLUS)
Perlite
Vermiculite
Worm castings
Granulated Dolomite Lime

I'm limited on sources...I was told this custom soil mix can be found at your very own Home Depot....so that is where I plan on going. Any suggestions of a better mix that you are sure of, and can be bought at a Home Depot or any gardening supply store.

4 20 watt florescent bulbs.
2 mini fans for circulation and what not.
Thermometer
Humidity level thingy ma jiggy.
2x little pot
2x medium size pot
possibly some bug traps or mite control solution.

Now...I know I need a lot more probably, but this is just the planning stage.
BUT NEED HELP!

What I really need to know...is light intervals and watering plans. I've heard 12 on 12 off, is a very good combo.
Any help or information would be GREATLY appreciated

im a little new at this too but this site is full of endless info be careful dont belive everything you read but i would start reading guides on it before you start spending money it is deffinetly a very time consuming hobby in the beggining and can get expensive quick so be prepared but really look around before you start cause if you start with a 12 and 12 schedule i couldnt tell you what would happen but i dont think its gonna smoke too good best of luck get that greenthumb going
