need tips for first grow

hey im starting my first grow i am going to be using cfls and i need it to be as stealth as possible i have a grow box which is 13.5 inches in depth and 16 inches in width and 7.5-8 inches in hight not including the pot and light fixture the grow box has mylar rapping paper on the top and bottom but i ran out for the sides i only have 2 light fixtures and 2 cfls with 13watts each i am probly going to be growing 1-2 seeds depending on if they both germ i onl have 2 bagseeds i may obtain more but i am trying with these first the germing process is not working so good they cracked but they wont sprout out of the seed:( and i am wondering if 2 13watt cfls could make a plant live for the first 2weeks of its life because i cant get my hands on the 40-45watt cfls til about 2 weeks and i do not have but will obtain a SMALL SILENT fan for my grow box the heat is very low and i do not have a thermostat or a timer for the out let i have to turn on and off the lights every day (not a problem) i am just wondering if the 2 13watt cfls could grow 1 plant the ligths will be on 18/6 and approx. 3-5inches of the plant

please post ur infomation is valuable i will be back to check for posts around 5-530 ish bongsmilie

you dont need the 40 watters if you grab daylight 27 watt like 2 of them would work great in a stealth grow..

ok some more info for you cfl users.. you can use the 2700 k for sprouts but you need more watts.. 23 watt 2700k or 27 watt 6500k,,, the daylight will give you the best growth posible and cool or soft white will slow the process and give you the slowest growth if any at all!

2700k=flowering bulb + they are labled soft white or cool white
6500k=vegging bulb + they are labled daylight

For germing I use a mug for coffee fill it three inches or so with water pop my seeds in the water and cover it with anything you want put in a dark area and check it in 24 to 48 hours... Once you see the little white root pop out grab em gently and place em in the soil about an inch or less.. I use the blue party cups and a pencil to poke a hole in the cups at the bottom.. after i fill it with soil i use the pencil again to make a hole in the soil and drop in the seed. cover the seed with soil once its in and plop the cfl within an inch of the cup brim... 13 watt cfl may not allow you to sprout.. im not sure but i know when i first started i was using 13 watters and got no growth at all... the 27 watt daylight at home depot are cheap as hell 4 bucks each.. just remember to stay on your water cycle and dont deviate from it unless emergency.. water untill you see it coming out the bottom of the pot. For sprouts i only mist with a spray bottle and water gently every couple days... you dont want to flood the sprout it will die. you can look at my closet grow if you wish it may give you some ideas for the light set up... just make sure to keep your cfl as it grows about max 4 inches from the plant for max. coverage. Youll be fine

no worries.. try this for when you get some more doe and they will ship in the mail.. remember for every cfl you buy you need adapters unless you got a light bar.. www.insidesun.com there hps are cheap real cheap like 90 bucks +shipping.

Daylight = growth

soft white = flower/nugs

A well educated botantist here that doesn't know much about growing this specifc species. I have a thousand questions but essentially I have a 4ft x 4ft sealed room with a 600 watt HPS, fans, an exhaust with a carbon filter and a heater. First crop was pretty good... 5 plants yielded about 3 oz.

Question 1: Can I use a 3 part hydroponic advanced nutrient system in a soil based mixture?

not to be a jerk but your highjacking this mans thread with your own grow questions.. try putting up a thread in newbie central no worries.. I would say that from reading shit that hydro nutes are more concentrated for larger amounts of water so i would use soil based liquid nutes or powder

yep tye them down after a couple weeks this is very low stress training. I use a rubberband and band the lower leaves to the stalk pointing up of course lol... if your lsting just dont top them for a while to keep the stress down the more stress the more likely it will be herme or male...
