Need some insight with Dyna-Gro Nutes.....

Ok, I have recently tried Dyna-Gro nutes on some of my clones that I have going. I Have my clones in 2 Gallon containers filled with Pro-Mix HP and extra perlite. My strain is Extrema, these clones are usually good at 9 weeks. I have been giving them a regiment of 2.0 ML of Protekt, 2.0 ML of Bloom, and 1ML of Grow for the first 4 weeks mixed in spring water twice a week. I have started to notice browning, crinkling, and yellowing on the upper leaves on a few of the clones, and also slow bud growth. What am i doing wrong? they looked like champs during the vegging stage? They are under a 600 watt Hps. Do I need to drop the Grow completely? Boost up the bloom? drop the protekt? Is the feeding chart on there website a good guide to follow? Can someone help me out with a weekly guideline to follow in a Soiless medium??

I think it's that 2x/week that's the problem. The amounts aren't excessive, just the frequency.

I use Pro Tekt also, ~2ml/gallon, but never more than once/week to 10 days. Great stuff, but very easy to over do.

The yellowing upper leaves sounds like iron or zinc, but DG has both of those, so ??????

The only thing I can suggest is only feeding once/week, even at a slightly higher dose and see if that helps. A water, water, feed worked well for me with DG and my own peat based mix.

Quick question, did you add lime to that mix?

I didn't add any lime to my soil, its just Promix HP with extra perlite. is there any guideline to follow for newbies with these nutes? like how many MLs is good for a 4 week veg?? should i not being using the grow formula after the firstcouple of weeks in flowering? what would be a good weekly regiment in flowering in ML's with these nutes?

can anyone help me with this??

Not really. There really isn't a one size fits all regimen and trying to follow one is a recipe for disaster.

Your particular strain, mix, set up and all that is not like anyone else and it's up to you to dial it in. You're doing good though, not over doing it strength wise and that's a big plus in your favor. I think you're applying it too often with the twice/week, but that's what I've noticed for MY plants and set up.

You're just going to have to experiment meng and see what the plants do. Just do it in small steps though, a few ml in either direction and give it a week or so for results. With what you are doing now, I'd say you're 85% of the way there. Nothing drastic needed.

I would suggest:
After the third week of flowering or so, you can cut out the grow and use bloom only. It has enough N.
Try feeding only once/week, or a water, water, feed and see how the plants react.
Do the protekt 2ml/gallon no more than once/week.
I would consider lime for the next run or top dressing on this one. ProMix, or any peat based mix can get really acidic and your pH could be really low.

The schedule on the DG site is a good place to start. They make the stuff and know better than anyone on a mj site. Still, it's not written in stone, just a basic starting point that you will have to dial in to suit your situation.

You'll get it. At least you haven't over done the nutes and burnt them. Trying to get things right after an OD is problematic at best.

Wow, pretty identical situation here. 600w, Extrema clones, 5 gal. Dyna-grow, hempy 100% perlite. My leaves look like shit, chloritic and yellowed. Although the buds seemed slow, they quickly picked up the pace. I'm at day 69. I'll try to add some pics later. I do believe I underfed mine. I have since "heard" that Extrema loves ferts. I'm getting impatient for mine to finish. I'm new to this method, so I'm just happy the end is in sight.
