I currently am using a ebb and flow table in my veg room, filled with 12 plants. In my bud room, i have 2-5 gallon ebb and grow bucket systems. Im trying to transplant my plants from the table tot he buckets when they get ready. I use little net pots in the table filled with just hydroton. My question is, is there a easier way to do this? I did use rockwool last time, but im trying to switch away from that natsy stuff. I want to know if i need to fill the table with hydroton for the roots, or will my net pots just filled with hydroton sitting in the table be ok? I realize that roots will air and light prune themselves, so im thinking hydroton int he table will be needed. But i have already done this once, and the roots were super tangled, and it was quite harsh on the plants untangling them and transplanting them. Anyone got any ideas? Thank you all for your help.

start them in small 4 inch pots with only 4 holes in the bottom, place a hydroton ball in each hole then fill with hydroton, only a few roots will get out this works for me

i tried both ways, in pots with only bottom holes and now i have em in a full table of rocks i find it's quitesimple gives bigger rootspace if you have enough rocks, place a thin net drain and not to allow rock to the control res and fill it up with rocks

dude i rock out with that same system for flowering what I do is top feed and use the same regular drain method. But i love this stuff called grodan its like shredded insulation or something is messy and alittle gross but is sweet. Ill use a dumbie keg cup fill the pots till top with the blank space for the baby and keep it in same pots the whole time. Im in the 2 gallon now myself gonna buy the 5 gallon expansion packs but man 300 dollars come on for 6 give me 12 for that price. Anyways hope i helped.
