Need some ideas on hidden door

Looking for some Ideas on hidden doors I'm putting in false wall in basement..was thinking of like mounting a bookcase to a drywall covered door with push latch and inside hinges so it wont drag the wall when opening... anybody got something simalar any ideas welcome Thanks again:weed:
 
did the same thing with my growroom. used plywood as backing for the drywall although i guess you could use a 2x4 stud frame. also used shelving to hide the seams, which is the major giveaway. used 1"x3" boards secured only to the door but spanning the seams, and then attached the shelving to the board.

hinges are also a problem for me as i had to mount the door with the hinges on the outside. found a neat solution to that but you're better off with the hinges on the inside.
 
Korvette1977...ya I hear ya...:) Desertrat thats exactly what I was going for the 2x4 frame and inside hindges easy overlap to keep light out with foam insluation tape inside pocket ect...the sliding door is a great idea but in would need to push inward in closed position to seal but the zelda sound wow that takes me back. good shot will post pics under construction
 
you should make a hologram of a wall. it will look as if there is a wall there but yuo can simply walk through it to get to your grow room. the best hidden door is o hidden door
 
Kinnda want it to be undetectable have no problem with smell when I'm done the police can waltz around the basement and never be the wiser may get a possesion for a q laying round but all my smoke stays in my room, this one bigger better safer wish I could find one of those old houses with the old bomb shelter that would be perfect but hidden door for now :) keep em coming the halogram what if the cop tripped and fell in he might think he was transported to a KINDER reality and go insane.......and the room is 8x8x14'
 
you sould make a fake wall then have the door be a bookcase that slides backwards on a pair of tracks like a slider. and the back off the gookcase would be thick enough to put a deadbolt on then just hidw with books
 
Leaving a plain, insulated stud wall that has a panel framed in that just pops out (needs to be a tight fit) is more inconspicuous than sheetrock with seams, hardware or other tell-tale signs of an access.

Not to mention an unfinished frame wall is as normal in a basement as a finished wall would be...........do you see the access point??.........it has been finished inside now and has a stack of empty boxes and a bar across it with coats hanging in the way......just slide the coats over and push the correct stud and the door pushes in.....it has a lock hidden behind the insulation and the closet door locks from the inside for when I am inside:blsmoke:

Got high once and for sure saw Mr. Tumnes!

Dude it would be awesome to smoke up and go to Narnia! (great movie to watch high btw)

You figure this out all by yourself......the dog and the handlers will have to deal with my 4th ammendment right....and if they have already gotten by that---well, then a false wall isn't going to help anyway. :joint:
 
about the dog..they'll smell something in the room it abutts but never the room dogs hit on direct strong scents there not trained like bomb dogs residual smell won't produce a hit and the room has good ventilation hope there never near it yaeh a pocket plug/door sound sweet and ya once there in you might be boned you might get lucky I guess
