Need some help with lighting

i have been veggin 4 plants (2 grape punch, 1 Plantnum OG and 1 Mr. Nice guy) under a 400watt MH for about a month now. im not going to be able to get my 1000watt hps untill i get payed at the end of this month (April). So my question is... should i continue to vegg them until then under my MH, or would it be possible to put them into a 12/12 cycle under the MH for a couple weeks until i get my HPS??? would that be a good idea???

You can do either one. If it were me, I'd top some of the bud sites or super crop and continue vegging till the HPS is available.

thanks for the input brother! i have already topped them and am going to continue to vegg them until my HPS gets here

so ive heard about topping a plant more than once. but what i want to know is if you top a plant, do you HAVE to top it again??? and why would/do you have to topp again????

When you top a plant, you stop the plants upward growth, and you make it bush out more.
After that, you only have to top the shoots that are growing taller, faster, than the other shoots coming up.
The objective is to create a bush with MANY colas, all being the same height.
