Need some help please

Well to start it off this is my first grow. I have been reading for the past few days and I took some advice from ebaums. i put some seeds in a napkin and kept them damp for almost 30 hours with no light now i have them in a little bit of water under a light. i plan on putting them in dirt tomorrow. i do ot really want to sped any money on this. just trying to see if i can makeshift with what i got. Any help on what to do next would be appreciated. they are just regular mid seeds from around the atlanta area.

Your going to have to spend moneny regardless. If you don't want to spend money, I'd probably suggest don't even waste your time. Your going to need lights to start off the seedling. If your growing outdoors your going to need 5-10g pots. Your going to need good soil, and good nutes. If where your growing outside has no water running to it and it doesn't rain for awhile outside, be prepared to walk a good distance carring jugs and jugs of water. Good luck!
 
im going indoors i have a 18ft light and i am putting it over them now in my closet. alright so heres what i done so far: i put seeds in napkins in water. i noticed 3 of em started shootin a root out or w/e so i got some dirt and got it damp put the dirt in a cut coke can about a half inch down and recovered. i dampened it and put it under the light. thanks i know im dumb to all this but please help.

what can we do for you to help?send you lights,soil, or no no, maybe hydrosetup.you have to spend some money man.

I was thinking the same thing. What kind of soil are you using? What kind of light is it? Re-measure it, cause theres no way its 18ft long. Sure you didn't mean 18 inches? How many watts are those lights. We can only help you as much as you give us, and so far thats not much. We need temps/humids, lights, soil, whats the NPK of soil. Whats your ventilation gonna be when it gets bigger? these are all things you need to consider when your growing. You can't just plant, throw a light in and expect to see results. You'll be draining your power and just abusing that seed. I dont meant to sound harsh or anything, I'm just letting you know so you aren't in for a disappointment in the end. Read the GrowFAQ and go from there.
 
ok man i need help i will spend money if necessary but i already have lighting i didnt mean 18 ft i meant 18 inches it was used to grow pot by a buddy. all i want i maybe one or 2 small plants.just to see if i can get it growing. then i will upgrade.i just want to know like what to do from step one you know if u dont mind. like the REAL germenation process then after its done will regular dirt work? how often to water when first put seeds in and when do i give it light?how long will it take to break top soil? how long til i can smoke.
 
Alright cool! This was more helpful. If your going to start in soil, once you see your roots tap in the napkin. It can be safely planted. Make sure you plant root bottom seed up. Watering you should do as often as your soil gets dry. Poke your finger 2-3 inches down and see if it's dry. If it is then give it water. Theres no telling how much water, that all depends on knowing your plants and learning from mistakes. Good thing with soil is, it's a whole lot easier to manage your over/underwater.
 
And no dont' use regular dirt. Get soil from lowes/home depot, NOT WAL-MART! If you get dirt from outside, your bound to get bark, bugs, etc. Just get some good soil with good NPK. You want higher N then P and K. Do some reading the peoples grow Journals to find out the best soil to use.
 
is it possible to use dirt tho...i put the sprouted seeds in dirt about a inch down and watered em a lil put em under that light in the closet i making sure its warm in there too. anything else i shold do like turn lights off at a specific time or water?
 
when they brake the ground, put them under the light you have on 24/7 light and wait untill there are 2, maybe 3 sets of leafs. meanwhile go and get some real lights.if you are on a budget, then buy some CFL's blue spectrum ( > 8 for sure) and you'll be able to veg them preaty well. for flowering i suggest you to buy a HPS setup.DON'T water them every day.wait the dirt to dry out atleast one and a half inch deep.do not use fertilizers until the end of week 3.pm me for anything you want.peace!!! so u say 24/7 light til i see maybe 2 or 3 leaves. i still think i wont ever get em to sprout. ok i put em in the dirt yesterday morning about 9 oclock and keot light on em til almost 12 last night. do yall think it will work if i leave the light on em all day until like 10 at night then cut em off til i wake up? i watered twice yesterday.how long til i see leaves. and how long does the whole process take til i can smoke?
 
oooooh....... have patience my man.they aren't even sprout and you wanna smoke them.may take 10 days befor breaking the surface, even more.i suggest you to make some good soil mix with some perlite in it to let the roots get oxygen, and put a seeds inthere.this regular dirt is not mixed with perlite? right?
 
they don't need light when they are under the ground.and not 2-3 leafs.i mean 2-3 sets of leafs. add all the lights you can buy and put them under 18/6 for veg.imo the plants need a dark period for rest a lil bit and the roots can grow too.use atleast 1 gal pot for veg, because you dont want root bounding and slowing the growth.
 
18/6 u mean like 18 hours of light or what? i got them in small plastic cups now and yea i used potting soil. i got some more lights too. i just put all the cups in a box i lined with aluminum foil to help with reflecting the light. am i on the right track?
 
ohh and get that thin foil out of there, coz it creates a hot spots and can harm the fuckin plants. you are not baking anything aren't ya? use milar or just paint the walls with flat white paint.
