Need some advice is my plant doomed

Yeah, and you are correct, but we covered that ground already. I run a little chlorine in my dripper reservoirs for soil and hydro in both coco and rockwool, doesn’t seem to make a shitting bit of difference except I don’t get nasty bacteria growth in the res. It largely oxidizes out before it hits the dirt/media.
I didnt say it would kill them but I would be willing to bet that if you grew side by side with a plant you give chlorine and a plant you don't there is a pretty good chance the non chlorine one will do better simply because microbes help break down nutrients

Chlorine evaporates off fairly quickly. And in most water systems the concentration is not high enough to begin with to cause any changes to the medium or microbes.

Hi Specwin!
What changes did you make after this thread?
I felt Michael gave you the best advice.
Give it something with more nitrogen, 5-3-3 or 6-4-4 would work, or a nice balanced 20-20-20 like Jack’s All Purpose, and be patient.
I only skimmed through this thread so I may have missed some info.
I think you plant was hungry also and one feeding of the above (not using to much) would help.
I did not see you mention the soil you used other than to say it was a cheap organic brand from HD.
A quality soil from the start would have made a big difference in your results.
Some people do not like or have good results with fox farm ocean forest.
Many grow amazing plants in ocean forest.
If you have access to it you should try it and find out for yourself.
Good luck with your grow!

Yeah I haven't been testing the pH and I knew that would come back to bite me in the end it's organic soil with worm castings I got at home Depot ( I know probably not the best )
I agree with the consensus here. Over watered, too little drainage or aspiration and unbalanced PH causing a nutrient blockage. I think I see lots of wood chips in or on your soil. I've heard not to use wood chips. Fox Farm Ocean Forest and Bu's Blend are popular with users here. I blend them 50/50 with added pumice for better aeration. A PH and soil moisture meter tester along with adequate drainage should save this girl. and I'd prune off the yellow leaves. I also agree with HotRodHarley that you will need a boost after correcting moisture/ph/wood chips problems. I use "Organic Plus" fish/kelp/molasses by Kellog from HD. It stinks but works great (2-2-2) Good Luck

Thank you I'm gonna be looking into getting new soil and I ordered a pH tester so hopefully my next grow will have less issues. For now I'm just gonna hope it stays alive lol

I haven't changed the soil but I added more holes in the bucket and gave it some water, waited until the soil was really dry and gave it some mega crop the next time I watered it. So far it has grown new nicer leaves but it still has burnt tips and some of the leaves are curling. What do you think this is from

It is in rough shape.
The advice to look into a better soil is for next grow.

With this plant your in a tough spot but hopefully get through.
I think you will be surprised at the difference a good soil makes.
Your plant looked especially hungry in the 1st picture in the 1st post.
Part of the problem is probably overwatering. It is the most common problem a new grower makes.
It takes time to learn how far you can push this plant.
Learning the weight of a dry pot of soil vs a moist pot vs a saturated pot is all part of the learning process.

The soil you are using is not going to drain as well as ffof meaning it is going to retain even more water.

I haven't used Mega Crop so I'm not sure if that was the best choice. I know it is a good product just not sure if it was what you needed. Anything would help.

It's really a guessing game as to your best move without following your plants progress.

If it was me and we all do things different.
I would have fed it with a balanced dry fertilizer as Michael mentioned.
There are tons of choices. I might choose Fox Farm Happy Frog 6-4-4 or DTE Bio Live 5-4-2 to add some microbes to your soil if it is not to healthy.
Again just me as we all do things different. I would also give it a mild dose of (smells really Bad) liquid fish emulsion, to get a quick boost of Nitrogen in there while waiting for the dry fertilizers to kick in and help the plant.
If you have bag seed you should grow a small plant and then learn how far you can push it without water. Experience and practice along with a better soil will take you a long way.
FFOF needs no nutrients for the 1st 4 to 6 weeks, only water.

I had to go back in my picture files to find a ffof grown plant.
I have used it often and still do on occasion.
This plant was likely fed for the 1st time with a fertilizer at the beginning of flowering.
This pic was from 2015.

thanks for this reply I appreciate it I'm definitely going to use this for my next one but I need to find where to get more seeds first!

Specwin74,

Its definitely an improvement.

Did it improve after water?
Or after megacrop?

I'd still be tempted to give just water a couple times.
Sounds to me like the added aeration and drainage has really, really helped.

How are you going to measure the soil's ph?

:peace:

I was thinking about giving just water the next 2 or 3 times and I'm not sure I haven't got that far yet. I'll look online for something I could get to measure it
Yeah, it sounds to me like plain water is your friend here.
The extra drainage holes really helped imo.
Get one of the old fashioned slurry kits from the hardware. You cant beat them for soil.
You make a slurry with the solution provided in the kit, then sprinkle the powder on top. Wait a couple minutes. Then match the colour to the provided chart.
I'll upload an example in a few minutes.

Plain water is not a plants enemy. Its a plants friend.
Looking a lot better.

:peace:
