I was just informed that I am not fertilizing right. So far I've just been giving my plants fish emulsion once or twice during growth. how much of this stuff am I supposed to use and how often? I was also wondering if maybe there are some better nutrients you guys could recommend that I don't have to buy from a specialty store.

Yeah, I personally think most of the nutes at the hydro store are a rip off, unless your doing hydro. They are 1/4 strength and 4 times the cost. I use fish emulsion during vegetative growth. And a little bit of a micronutrient powder to make sure I get my iron, magnesium, calcium etc. Its more of what I call natural then organic. Comes from minerals. A lot of organic growers are using molasses or epsom salts for the micronutrients. But Id rather know Im using the right amounts for plant growth and get something from the nursery.

Then in bloom I usually use a bloom formula found near the fish emulsion. Its 0-10-10 NPK, and a bit more of my micro powder. This grow Im using some bat guano high in Phosphorus made into a tea as well. I also plan to use some molasses in between bloom feedings, and with my "flush" the last week or two. It is a good idea to use half strenght liquid fertilizers, and if your plants do well with that, double the frequency.

OH I also mix in some organic granular all purpose fertilizer in my potting mix before planting. Like a 5-5-5 NPK with kelp meal, blood meal, bone meal, alfalfa meal.... that has live beneficial bacteria and fungus!

usually my fert instructions say every 2 weeks. Im experimenting now with half strenght every week. Some strains dont like a strong blast like that every two weeks. My White Widow didnt think that was cool so....

It said a cap full in a gallon of water every two weeks as well, but mine started acting up with half of that recommended strength.

I'm using alaska fish firt ans use at half mix every other watering. I add molasses and superthrive in veg. I prep my soil with a tsp af gaden lime per gal of soil. With all that said I'm looking to change nutes, But don't know yet what I'm going to use.

I keep hearing molasses mentioned, what is it and what do you do with it? What is half mix to you, how many teaspoons per gallon?

I figure out what the ppm's are for the full dose of nutes and cut it in half or mix half of what is called for. Hope that helps a lttle. Molasses helps the microbes in the soil. they in turn help the plant get nutes. you can use 1-2 tsp per gal. I use one or a little less in veg. I've been trying different things in flower. I think for the most part as long as it's there it helps the microbes.

Oh cool, I'll have to check that out. Surprised I never heard of it yet. How come it's ok to use during flushing, I thought the whole point of that was to flush out the plants system.

super market for molasses. Make sure it's unsulfered. blackstrap is what most use. I use Grandma's, It's all I can find.

Nahman I don't bake that kind of baking LOL I am married and my wife bakes for me. I'll have her pick some up when she goes shopping again. Thanks for all your input so far guys, rep has been given out.

The cold pressed fish fertilizers also work as a fantastic foliar feed with some molasses mixed in. Molasses is also a chelator, which means it essentially unlocks the nutrients already in your soil and feed solution.

I use molasses up till the very last watering, the last being just straight water.

Most any garden store will have a great selection of CHEAP granular and powered fertilizers. If you are going organic and/or inexpensive teas made from alfalfa meal, guanos and molasses are the absolute bees knees.

My girls are 90% organic.

Those girls sure look happy praying up to the light like that. You got a better pic?

I was just browsing for some stuff and I think I might get
Desert Bat Guano 8-4-1 for vegging Super Swell Bat Guano 0-7-0 for flowering, what do you think? You guys are sure making the molasses sound like something great I've been missing. I am glad I am getting all this help here because I obviously haven't been pushing my babies to their full potential. Oh well live and learn. hopefully I can get all this stuff together so I am ready when my clones are ready to go in dirt.

Get something with some K also (potasium) for budding. I just did some molasses. Was planning on waiting more into the bud cycle. But if its good for increasing beny microbes and chelating then y not start ASAP?

Money my friend, it all boils down to money. I got laid off when work got slow this summer and my wife just got a job so we're still catching up on a lot of bills atm.

What's good for potassium? that's K right? and how should I balance the PH out with all this crap?
