I have a magnum biggest motherfucker hood a grow shop could sell you kind of thing going on.
It is 1000 watts.
My rails are six feet long and as you can see the light thingy does not cover it very well.
my room is 9 ft by 9 ft.
I guess what I am asking is "what should I be doing" to get this lighting thing RIGHT.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Basic reading will tell you that a 1000w will not cover a 9x9 area. Start reading up on lighting and you will find your answer

yeah a 1000 will cover like 5x5 max without light mover, MAYBE a 6x6 with mover certainly not 9x9. so what should you be doing is adding light or shrinking room

My room is 9 by 9 so I have a little room to work.
My areoponic rails are 6 feet long and 22 inches away from each other centered in the room.
When I purchased the light I was told that it would be sufficient and I now realise it falls a little short.
I realise that adding another HPS light is more than likely the "best answer", it comes at a cost of more heat and electricity.
I guess what I was asking is, if there may be another option (i.e. light mover ,t5 side lighting ).
Forgive me if I come across as a newb, just asking a question from other people who have been down this
road before and might be willing to help me out.
Thanks for your time

if it were me, i would just use the appropriate area to grow under the 1k ad just use the rest of room to move around, work and storage
