Need Help

Im looking to go indoors now. So far I have bought two complete light sets that include Vented hood, dimable ballast, and metal/hps bulbs. I have flex duct,hangers,charcoal filter,6 inch inline fan.
I purchased a 4x8(only had 1 six inch vent for exhaust) tent and set it up with carbon filter vents, inline fan. After an hour I noticed it was 100 degrees. This was also one of the hottest days during summer. I said fuck it and sold the tent.

Now Im itching to get this going again. Im thinking now that its cooled down a bit I want to give it another go. I can get a 6.5x6.5 (a little bigger than the 4x8 and has 2 6 inch exhaust holes) but now Im thinking of only going with one 1000w instead of two. Either that or maybe stick a small portable ac.(only want to grow 6-8 BiG plants if possible)

Do you think Ill stay cool in a 6.5x6.5x7 with one 1k light and one 6 (450cfm) inline for exhaust? But most important, is this enough light for 6-8 big plants? I have 2-1k light set ups but want to stay cool.

vent your hood seperate from your filter ... should get rid of most of the heat a tent as big as your thinking of should have more then 2 vents .. use one set ( 2 vents .. in and out) for your hoods with its own fan and one vent for your filter (my filter is inside my tent ) fan sucking thru it and blowing out and one vent for passive air ... hope this helps

The 2 1000s were pushing the borders of overkill, for that space. The only way you could control that kinda heat is to have AC, or an aircooled hood. Try run'ing a single 1000w if it still gets too you may want to get a 600. Your new area could fit the 2 1000s but you would still have the same heating issue. You have 2 1000s and a 6" inline fan, put that shit to use! Oh yeah you must have an intake and a exhust.
