I really need professional help here. First, I want to discuss my current grow which is in week 7 of flowering. I am having some drying and curing and canning issues that id like to discuss with you all before I cut them down. I want to tell you what I did during this grow so that I may find answers to some of the issues/problems I have experienced. After that, Id like to discuss my next grow which I will start in 3 days with all your help. So bare with me... Please, professionals only. I need techniques that have been tried and really work! Now lets get into the specifics:
　
The setup is as follows: Im doing a cabinet grow. The cabinet has 8 square feet of growing space. The cabinet has an intake fan(60cfm) and an exhaust fan(260cfm), both are pictured below. Temperature and humidity are all controlled digitally. I also have a smaller fan over the plants so they get plenty of air flow. It has a 1000 watt HPS lamp also pictured. I use a 45 gallon reservoir. Inside, there are 2 air stones and a submersible pump with 20 spray nozzles. Its also Co2 ready. I use a digital
TDS/ph Meter and ONLY RO/DI water.
For my current SOG grow, my strain is feminized pineapple express. I selected the best mother from 8 seeds. I cut my clones, and they rooted in 4 days. I then gave them another 7 days to vegetate. Below is a picture of one of my clones with a healthy root system and the lights they veg under. They all looked similar to this or they were thrown out. In 2 inch net pots, they vegetate for about a week and then the lights were set to 12/12. Question: Is 40 plants too many for a SOG with only 8 square feet of space?
　
For this SOG, I used Flora Nova, Kool Bloom, and Floralicious Plus for my base nutrients from General Hydroponics (pictured below). I maintained a ph close to 6.0. There is usually 16 gallons of water in the reservoir. I only measure out enough nutrients for 10 gallons of water because I read you are supposed to scale down what they say on the back of the bottle.
Along with the base nutrients I listed/pictured above left, the additives I added are pictured on the right. I added Open Sesame during week 3 and week 4. I then added Beastie Bloomz in weeks 5 and 6. I also added Gravity in weeks 5 and 6. Now, did I over fertilize? I have no idea. I know nothing about how to feed these plants so I guessed. I didnt use the snow storm ultra because the strain has plenty of crystals by week 4. My plants looked healthy but if my feeding schedule was all wrong what would be the best way to feed them? My TDS reading was usually around 1400 for the entire 8 week grow. Was this too high or too low? Here is a pic of the SOG in week 5 of the grow.
Its week 7 and now I begin my flush. The flushing agent I use is pictured above with my additives. I flush for 7 days. Is that enough? Here is a pic of one of the plants while they are flushing. In a few days Im gonna manicure and cut these plants down and begin the harvest.
　
This is the dryer. It has racks and an intake and exhaust fan. I find when I leave my harvest in here for 7 days, the bud is very brittle and the hairs are dry but they stick up like someone is being electrocuted. Maybe I should set my timer to only bring in fresh air for 15 minutes every hour? Maybe I should only dry them in there for 2 or 3 days? I do know I cant leave them in there for 7 days to dry because It will lose all its smell if I do that!
So the picture below is where the plant has been manicured and is now ready to be dried and cured so what do I do now? Some say hang for a few days and then put them in a paper bag for a few days and then can the bud in a glass jar for at least 2 or 3 weeks? Whats the correct method to get that good dank smell with perfect bag appeal? PLEASE HELP!
Here are some pics below of some finished bud from a previous grow(same strain). Whats wrong with it? How can I avoid whatever mistakes I made on my next grow? Looks ok, crystals everywhere! I think it dried way too fast though but Im no expert. It was in the dryer a week so its real brittle. After a week in the dryer it went into an airtight glass jar . It has canned now for 3 weeks. It smells great but I wish the smell was stronger. I think I lose a lot of that dank smell in that damn dryer. What would you do?
Now I am gonna start my next SOG in 3 days. Im not gonna use the base nutrients pictured above anymore because they clog my spray nozzles. Im gonna use the nutes pictured below from Technaflora, and this stuff called Bloombastic. Here are my questions to the professionals:
　
1.How many plants should be flowered in an SOG with 8 square feet of growing space. The height of my strain isnt an issue.
2.How long should I vegetate my clones after I see the first few little roots pop out?
3.When should I super crop? I figure before I switch the lights to 12/12, but how soon after taking the clones should I begin to super crop them? Which is the best method for maximum yield?
4.When I get these clones to the 12/12 light stage, what would be the proper feeding schedule to promote maximum yield with the nutes and additives I have above?
5.When topping my reservoir off, add ph adjusted RO/DI water? Or add water thats been treated with nutes and has been ph adjusted?
6.Should I start flushing in week six or before? I read SOG grows are supposed to finish a lil earlier.
7.How do I seal the deal? How do I get picture perfect bub when its time to harvest, dry, and cure?
8. WITH MY SETUP, WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO MAXIMIZE OVERALL QUALITY AND YIELD?
