Need help with seedlings

Hi need a little advice/analysis.

I germed and sprouted my seedlings to the point in the picture below. I had decent growth in peat pellets until the night before last. I noticed this morning that there was NO GROWTH last night. Decided to transplant and put the pellets in a cup of soil. I noticed the root was at the very bottom of the pellet I guess restricted by the mesh. Unwrapped the mesh and transplanted into the cups you see below. Basically on day 5 from seed (planted seed Saturday 11/31) If you want to follow my short grow for more info on where I might have messed up it is here: https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/490438-nirvana-indoor-mix-8x26w-6500k.html

1) Temps kept at 70-75 with 40-50% humidity.
2) Watered every other day. Day before yesterday gave em a good water and drained the excess (felt funny about the watering though, used bottled room temperature water, felt I may have given too much).
3) After they sprouted above the peat ceiling put them right under 2 26w 6500k CFLs on 24/0

Everything seemed kosher until this morning when I was like "oh no, no growth at all last night". Yesterday in the day I got nervous checking on them it seemed like they completely stopped growing but I thought I was being too zealous. This mornings check confirmed my suspicions.

Thanks for any insight.

No need to remove the mesh, the roots can easily grow through it. And things are probably fine, they are just getting some roots going to support new, above ground growth too come...just stop watering ever other day, no way they need that much water, your stunting them. Wait until the cup feels very light when lifted to water. I generally only water little ones in cups every 7-10 days....

You want runoff. Overwatering is caused by watering too frequently, not giving it too much water at one time. Sounds like you better do a bunch of research......

Thanks, maybe too much watering at this point. I guess I should let the peat cubes get bone dry... Is that a good idea?

Never bone dry, still lightly moist. Every time you allow peat or peat based mixes go completely dry it becomes harder for it to absorb moisture. I highly recommend getting some yucca extract to use as a wetting agent with your feedings/waterings. A couple of drop of unsecented, bio degradable dish soap(Ivory is great)per gallon of water works well also.

I'll tell you like I was told, One of the biggest newbie mistakes is to "over love" your plant. Relax and let it do it's thing. Wait till you transplant it and it stops growing for a week while the roots grow. I always get so impatient during that time.

Thanks Jov, well it does not look too bad, the second seedling has still not shed its shell and was thinking that was the next step for that plant also. But they still look viable so maybe they are ok. I will calm down and take pics tomorrow morning and post here...
