i got my 1st grow up and running but my 1.2x1.2 grow tent temps are going between 87 even 94 wen the suns out i have a standard 600w hps i had a 4inch extraction fan but then put a big extraction fan out of a cooker extraction with 6 inch ducting and a 4 inch inline fan a 2 big desk fan blowing and the lowest i get is around 87 plz help and give me some advice. its about 87 90% of the is that way too hot?

87 is bearable but 94 is to hot. As long as it stays below 90 the plant should be ok but i reckon 80-85 is ideal.

na i got a standard reflector. and thanks guys for ur advice. jus wish i could keep the temps down abit more

Keep it in between 55-85 degrees or else growth slows, from Jorge Cervantes Marijuana Horticulture Medical Grower's Bible.

You can, get a cooled reflector. It is as easy as that.
You want your temps as close to 75 at all times as you can.
80 is too hot.

Hi.. I also had heat issues with my 120x120x200 tent.. I set up a fan about 10" big only pointing at the lamp.. At full speed. And that got me a little down..

I used to have temp problems (even in my DR60 grow tent with nothing but CFL's!) and the issues were instantly solved when I got a 4" inline centrifugal fan (HTG Supply). You can add all the fans you want but if they can't move enough air in/out then you will continue having temp probs. I had a higher CFM rating on my original inline duct fan (it's not centrifugal), but "regular" fans can't pull/push air efficiently if there's even a small amount of resistance in the air flow. Seriously, get a centrifugal fan pulling air out of your grow area and make sure you've got intakes that are 1.5 times larger than your exhaust and you'll be fine. You can even hook it up w/a cool tube to keep that powerful light cooled off. Good luck. I know how frustrating it is.
