Acoustic is better than Phonic trap.
I have never used sono. Do you have a link.

Edit, sono is just acoustic ducting, must be a brand.

Edit2,

I shelled out for some Phonic trap because I hate the insulation in acoustic, but it doesn't seem to perform as well as standard acoustic duct.
Best to go bigger than needed to keep noise lower.

I was going to get this, is it not worth it then?

I didn't think so matey, but I have to say its not entirely fair for me to compare the two as my acoustic ducting is 8" and I have 6" and 5" phonic trap. I was expecting some difference given the price it goes for and the sales pitch but it doesn't seem to perform any better, but its a hell of a lot nicer to work with.
Physically looking at the insulation in the phonic trap, its lighter and thinner, to me that's not a good thing when it comes to muffling or reducing noise.

That's what they claim, but its pretty new on the market. It certainly wasn't available a few years back.
I would like to see some testing videos to back up their claims.
It is more durable, the material both inner and outer could be used and taken down and put back up many times, where traditional acoustic tends to rip and the inside insulation can tear if your reusing it. There is also the fact that acoustic ducting should contain a vapour membrane which a lot of the stuff on the market today seems to forget. That stops moisture getting into the insulation. With out that it can end up stinking of rotten fish after a year.

If you want a quiet set up have a look at the thread "quiet the neighbours are listening"
There no such thing as silent though, but you can get your extraction quieter than your circulation fans if you plan it well.

just get insulated duct. thermoflo is a nice stuff but is pricey. i just went with insulated duct they have at home depot and it is fine. you wont get the grow completely silent just heads up any fan that pushes over 100 cfm is gonna make some noise. i built a soundproof box for my inline fan too which helps. the loudest component of my tent is the regular clip on fans i have in the tent.

what do you mean deal with it. the fiberglass is sealed in the sleeve around the duct. it wouldnt be exposed to you or the air.

If you cut the duct you will only expose yourself if you put in hand in between the sleeve and duct which isn't likely unless done purposely. idk about the other stuff your mentioning or the pros and cons of each but I use this stuff and it was easy too install mess free and does a good job of canceling out unwanted noise and isolating moisture from space

Somewhat does sound better.. I only need a 6inch...
Something to keep it quiet as possible and insulated...
