hey guys im pretty new, and have questions about the cfls im using. i have not started my first grow yet (still germinating). i have the standard light the aerogarden came with a 46 watt fluorecent and a 26 watt fluorecent. is this good enough? is the higher the wattage better? i asked the guy at target and he just confused me, so thanx for any help

try a small 80w HPS and put that next to the aerogarden. Even better toss the aerogarden get a 400w HPS and a "turbo garden"

You need to give some better specifics. What is the color spectrum of your lights. In the early stages you will need "Daylight" CFL's. Later you will need to change to "Soft White". Starting off they should be enough light, but you will need to buy more to get anywhere near a decent harvest.

all i have right now is an aerogarden3 (only has 3 pods). they are the standard cfl light bulb u put in ur lamp (so full spectrum, i guess). i dont know the difference between soft and daylight CFLs, so ill have to reasearch that.

to answer your question, no. IF you want to get more than half a J, you need more lighting. Weather it is CFL or HPS. Here's a suggestion if you want to stick to CFL's. Get a Power strip, Go to lowe's, home dePOT, where ever. Get you some Light sockets that plug directly into a outlet, get some y addaptors also. 5000K & 6500K are for vegg'in, 3000k & 2700K for flower - give more red.

OR get a 150 and get rid of all them cfl's together.

u mean half a G, an O, im not familiar with "j" (not being a smartass, i dont know if u made a mistake or not). by power strip do u mean a multioutlet outout from a single outlet? and 5000 and 6500 is too strong for my outlet i beleive (the guy at target said dont go past 100, but he may have lied)

umm... ok a J is a joint. 5000 & 6500 is not the wattage. Look on the pack of CFL's it will tell you 6500k or 5000k (full spectrum) etc...

also http://www.1000bulbs.com/pg/Color-Measurement/ - daylight for veggin warm white for flowering
