OK i think the problem here was the top of the plant was getting to close to the light at the top.(HPS 70 watt bulb about an inch away) with a fan running half of the time. do you think this would cause it or something else. Any help please.

Its HPS. But yes i did move it, so its about 12 inches away now. Will that really hurt the plants growth, or just that part of the plant?

I dunno man ive never burned a cola with a light. If it starts getting wores I would do my best to remove whats eating away and save the rest of the plant. Just watch it closley and make sure that disease doesnt spread from the burned part. And if that doesnt work make hash before its a total waste but dont do nothing rash yet.

I would go 16" The burned part might make it really easy to dry out the area around the burn witch would cause it to die as well and spread through the plant.

Anyway for better pictures? Its kind of hard to tell with those ones looks like im looking through blinds or somthing...

Is it too late to top a plant thats flowering? or will it continue to still grow upward(past) with the burn. It was doing sooo good i just dont want it to stop growth on top. My best grow so far dont want to ruin.

The burn will not do permanent damage. Basically, the light topped the plant. Get the light a correct distance from the top of the plant. In a month, you will not notice any damage beyond the altered height/width of the plant.

so will it continue new growth from the top? bc it stopped new growth on the top for now atleast. ??????

Im really buggin about this... so will it continue new growth from the burnt part on? what would happen if i cut that part off? or will it just grow past the burnt part and that little part will be hurt?

The new growth will be supplemental from the two nodes below. It will grow taller, but not as tall as it would have grown. It will be bushier and shorter. The surviving foliage will act as if you topped carelessly and manipulate various parts of itself to compensate. Remove the damaged tissue only. Do not cut the plant unless absolutely necessary.

let it go ,, she will be ok ,, i had same problem ,, i have 70 W hps also ,,, was 4 inches away ,, but at night time it was gettin cold & the leafs were perking up ( during dark time ) sooo when the lights came on ,, they were right on teh bulb :( ,,, .. how cold does it get in ur room during lights off ..??? ,, well i moved mine about 7 inches away & shes ok now ,,,, even 4 inches wasnt bad ,, i put my hand there & it was not even hott ,, .. o well shes 7 inches away from hps now ,,, i didnt burn mine tho ,, just heat stress from bein to close & then too cold at night,, also i wouldnt cut off the burned part ,,, no way ,, just let her go

OK i know i am worrying about it, but it seems like nobody has answered my main concern. Since the burn on top there has been no new growth at the top. and i am wondering if there will be new sets of leaves and the burn will just be below after new growth?

me personally , id just leave it on there ,, i would actully think , that since u burned it , it will grow back alot stronger ,, & yes the burned parts would be just below ,, how long ago did this happen.>?? . wait it out like a week / week & half .. it should be growin good ,, that harsh burn might of shocked it ..

thanks man thats what i wanted to know.It happened about 3 days ago and theres been nothing new. ill post some beauty pics soon bc the buds below are crystallizing nice.
