Need help picking nutrients for this size grow for my dad

Hey guys,

I convinced my dad to grow some CDB Strains for his pain. I plan on maybe getting him a 600 watt light setup with MH and HPS. He'll probably grow 3 plants. I'm just wondering what good nutrients are to get, and how much to get that will last him throughout 1 grow. I want to save as much as possible on this first grow, but do want good quality nutes, just don't wanna buy way more than we need to get the first grow done.

A lot of people use JR Peters Jack's Classic All Purpose. It's inexpensive, $20 1.5 lbs. Good for soil or hydro.

I use Grow More Sea Grow. $20 buys 1.5 lb jars of All Purpose and Flower & Bloom. It has organic ingredients, good for soil or soilless, but not hydro. You can get it from plantsthatproduce.com (or maybe a little lower shipping from sprinklerwarehouse.com, but fewer GrowMore products to choose from.). That's 700 feedings at 1/2 tsp per gallon of water. 50 feedings per plant, that's 14 grows. $1.45 per grow. (You can buy 5lb pails to get the per-grow cost down to $1.).

Here's some plants I grew with Sea Grow (<<link). I got 685g dried from four plants in a 4x4 tent. 1.53 lbs. I don't think you'd be disappointed with it. I used to grow with synthetic nutrients and I (and my friends) notice a distinctly deeper/richer/smoother taste which I attribute to the organic content of the nutrients. Synthetic nutrient users deny it. But, my friends and I definitely taste it. And, if you visit the organic forum they'll tell you they get better smoke growing organically. I don't think it's the power of suggestion.

Nice, thanks. That grow was nice, good job. Seeing as you use a tent, I have a question.

When using tents do you guys use Carbon Filters and if so does that actually keep the smell away, or is the smell able to leak out of the tent because it's not air tight?

If you setup the tent, filter and fan correctly it will have negative pressure inside the tent. Leaks will only draw into the tent. All air sucks into the filter and out of the tent.

You can get odor when opening the tent to feed. If that's a concern, get a jar of OnaGel crystals (gelatin cubes). Put it at the end of the exhaust hose, or in the hallway. Remove the lid while the tent's open. You can pour distilled water into the jar as the liquid evaporates. At some point you'll need to add the OnaGel concentrate too. Just use it when the tent is open.

Awesome thanks

Jacks Citrus FeED. You can use this from start to finish by itself. Super easy, full nutrient profile, and inexpensive. I run this with sunshine #4 advanced. Here's 3 plants under a 600w with Jacks...

Yah, alot of options.. I was gonna say floranova for its simplicity.

Whatever you do, know more is not better. Goodluck.

I mean you can go FoxFarms, Roots organic, a local organic soil, the big box stores have lineups as well. The easiest method for your dad would be organic soil-water only, but you have to get everything together first. If you haven't bought nutrients yet, I would go down to the organics forum on here and look around, plenty of good stuff there.
