need help on what light to get...

whats up guys, so i have a little predicament. i am making another flowering room that is 4ft wide 4feet long and 4 1/2ft tall. i was thinking of buying a t5 4ft 4 bulb grow light. but now i cant keep thinking a 250 watt hps light will do the job better. the difference in price is almost the same. the wattage is only 20 watts different from the two. and the 250w hps get almost 10,000 more lumens that the t5. i know this is a very debatable topic because everyone has their own opinions. any comments will be appreciated, thanks

this one is no contest, get the 250W hps for flowering.

thats what i was thinkin. but how much more ventilation will i need for an hps? the temp in the room right now is 78 and i have a strong exhaust fan going. im only using 8 23 watt cfl's in their now.

250W hps isnt that much, but if its already almost at 80 , it may get up to almost 90, so u may wanna check on it periodically to make sure its below 90.. 90 is like the absolute maximum , infact u dont want it above 85 if u can.

so one more quick question. i am on a budget and wondering if it were possible for me to make a full 250w hps kit myself under 90 bucks...do-able?

you can prolly find one (250w hps) on ebay for about 90 bucks if you look.

however you can get two 150w HPS from e-conolight for about 50 bucks shipped, it's a security light so you'll have to DIY the reflector and cord.

4'x4' can handle up to 1000w HPS, actually that's about optimal for that size room.

if i were you i'd suck it up and go for at least a 400w, they are pretty much the standard hobbyist grow light. you can find one for about 120 bucks if you look around.

ya i agree. thats just a shit load of watts and im kinda going for the stealth grow. that why i was debating for the t5.
