need help on ph testing!!!!!

iv have got 1 of those drip ph test kits (u know the 1s were u put a drip in to the water and see what color it comes out) qus is, i add nutes to the water will this make a diffrance to the ph? because once i do it turns the water brown so i cant ph test(or can i)?

Different nutes will make the PH go up or down, its best to get a digital PH tester I dont believe you can test with nutes in the solution.

The water shouldn't be so brown that you can't pH test it. I use Fox Farm's lineup and the drops and I have no problem testing my pH whenever I need to. I always test before and after adding nutes because they do have an effect on pH.
