Need Help,First timer,anyone?

ok I started growing a plant last Saturday night,and my grow room has some space its a small closet but has room,i have no adjustable light source the light is about 3 or 4 feet above the plant,and its a fluersecent bulb and its a small one,im thinking of buying a stronger fluroscent but idk i dont want my plant to die either way
I bought a bag of soil with perlite and sand mixture
plant food
a 10 inch pot with drainage holes
heres a few pics of right after i planted the seed(germinated first) and then pics of today,any tips or suggestions would be really appreciated,and also any comments on color or growth would be nice

the best pic up close i could get,it has the 2 originals leaves and then 2 more have started growing and are about a little more then quarter inch long,the plant itself is about 4 or 5 inches roughly,ill check this thread every hour thanks everyone!

ok .... i had the same problem u have. the light is WAYYY too high.
thats why its really stretchy. u want it to stay short or else when the bud comes it will just fall over.
like my lil plant has just as many leaves but is only about a centimeter or 2 tall.
u want to drop that light about an inch or 2 above the plant or since u cant move the light get that plant higher up. but make sure it doesnt burn the plant.
as for the light, what is the wattage and is it a CFL? (the spiral ones)

That plant is streching to the light, that's not good it will be real weak later and start falling over. It defenatly needs to be closer to the light or expect probs from here on out

yea,im going out later today to buy a 23 watt CFL or w.e the ones that put off over 100 watt,and im selling one of my games for that i just dont know how id get the plant higher,i mean i can put it on my shelf in there but the light is in the middle of the room so the plant might stretch towards the light a little,the one im using right now is a CFL 13watt that puts off like 40 or so,tats why i need to stronger one,if I had a lamp id be fine but got nothing!~!any other comments would help me alot!thanks

ok ... well i guess 1 23 wat is better then nothing. but its going to be tough to get a plant growing off of just 1. if u can get 2 and a splitter. splitters are like $2. do u have an old lamp??? just one laying around the house? or if not wait till the weekend and get some at a garage sale. good luck

im prolly going out to buy one of the cheap desk lamps and get a splitter with it do u know if they sell that stuff at walmart?if not ill have to run out to menards or home depot,ill have 10 bucks which is enough for 2 of those bulbs,but if i can buy a cheap desk lamp with splitter then i could use 2 f the 13 watts i have and move it right next to my baby

yea i found my splitters at walmart. actually.... i think i got everything from walmart. just search the lighting section. they have some pretty useful stuff for growing.

u think 10 bucks is enough for a cheap lamp and the splitter?or should i just buy the 2 pack of the bulbs?if i had a lamp already id be happy but the room i use for my bedroom is built into the wall like all my other lights since its an apartment,so im going to gamestop to sell my game then to walmart to check,just dont know what i should do,and thanks for the help,anymore would be awesome lol!and ill follow ur setup to,i like the way urs is that rubbermaid one,pretty nice,how r ur girls doing?

well think of whats most important.... the lamp.... then the bulbs .... lastly the splitter. put the most important things first. cuz i didnt do that. (i bought about $100 worth of hydro gear but I NEEDED A LAMP. sooo .... i screwed myself over. well im glad u like my setup. if u want to go rubbermaid. walmart has the 40 gallon tanks for $7 if u go rubbermaid. i think i can just walk u through buiding it. as for my plants.... i have them all hanging out in the tent. its easier for me to control temp and humidity.

yea I understand,i just hope i can find a cheap lamp thats under 10 bucks cause i wont have more then 10 dollars so yea,should be able to find one,and i can get a splitter for free i have a gift card with like 2 bucks on it so i could buy the splitter,just need the lamp i dont have any remaining bulbs besides the one im using so i cant get both eitherway lolthanks for everything and ill let u know later what i bought and everything,and ill try the rubbermaid after i get one to grow,do u know how long it takes usually like time span before the bud is ready to harvest?

youre welcome man. we were all new to it at one point. READ AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. go on youtube and check out the growing videos. and check out the GROWFAQS . it can take around 4-7 months for a floro grow. it all depends on how the conditions are.
