I wouldn't bet on it working, it is a neat idea but I haven't seen any proof.

I don't see how it would hurt your plant... or help. Seems like the homeopathy of gardening IMO.

I think you'd be better off spending your time making some tea for you plants or something.

sitting it out in the sun with no lid will cook off chlorine and ammonia such so it want hurt,but dont think its gonna do more than that

do this then add some molasses and some guanos. It will really give em a bost. And topping is easy just google topping a plant on youtube
