Need expert opinion, Help with harvest!

Okay so im starting to get irritated with the person who was helping me with this (person i got the clones from).

My girls are exactly 40 Days in flower, They are blue dream.
I was told 63 Days total when done.

I had one hell of a time with this grow. They came in with mites & fungus gnats. Lovely right? Luckily they were free, I would never pay for shitty clones. Anyways during veg I used fruit tree spray alternating with alcohol to get the pests under control. And I thought I was good. Even when I thought I was good, I still used it for the sake of they can come back.

Now 40 days in flower, gnats have been a nightmare. they are sticking to the buds, the sugar leafs and are pissing me off. This has gone on for a couple weeks now. I have sticky paper up and they are sticking to it, but literally they are taking over.

Not to mention, one week ago I noticed the mites are back as I found a web on a popcorn bud. Picked the web off and looked at the lower leafs on all plants and they are back.. On every plant. Fun!

To the person who was helping me, I asked what to do because looking at the trichomes they are 50% +/- Cloudy & 50% +/- Clear. Some buds they are all cloudy with the bulbs of the trichomes clear. Well they told me, to wait. They wont be done till 63 days. Well according to Jorge Cervantes he says to harvest exactly where I am right now. "well, yours arent ready till 63 days" GREAT ADVICE!

I asked about the bugs, & they tell me to spray the shit out of the plant. Um? Im sorry but they are in flower, Im not spraying shit on my buds. "Oh its okay, we do it all the time" Thats great for you, Im not doing that. Myself and Others smoke this shit, I dont want to be smoking bug killer. What are we doing here, Making cigarettes? Its okay to now put shit in our smoke? Ya.


So as you can see, Im pretty fuckin irritated and lost on what I should do. They look just about ready TO ME. The bugs are getting bad. I dont have any, and when I mean any, i mean ANY extra money to get anything. So please take that into consideration. I feel its time to chop the shit and make due with what I have.

Cervantes says that...I've got his books....but he also say harvest at all cloudy...I found him kinda contradictory on this subject...or maybe he confused me....harvest at all cloudy trichs...clear is immature...amber is degrading....u want as close to all cloudy as u can get....period....I read over n over what Jorge says....he breaks it down into strains and indica sativaball that....that's where I got confused....go all cloudy n u can't go wrong

personally they dont look done and shame on that dude who gave you infested clones even if its freebies. thats almost as bad as knowingly giving someone stds.

I harvest all my plants at all.cloudy and I've never been disappointed.... I think ppl put waaaaayyyyy too much into those last days....when ur buds ripe its ripe....a few days isn't gonna matter....IMO....It took months to grow n flower n ripen....I don't think a few days in either direction makes that much diff.

Those buds above are def NOT finished...not not not.

I just feel like they are being stunted due to the problems I am having with the pests. Honestly all the way up till now I saw the growth, I saw the flowers growing, and beefin up. Now I dont see that. They seem halted.

How long do you guys think I should wait based on pictures? Should I stick it and try and get to 63 Days or am I looking closer than that?
And about the damn bugs, Im picking webs when I see them. Gnats they are getting stuck to the traps but still stuck to my girls. Anything else simple I should be doing. One plant the mites have gotten to the top leaves which sucks. I dont want to chop leaves as the plant is using them and I dont want to spray anything. I just dont know what I should or shouldnt be doing honestly. I get mis-guided information left and right.

Swollen calxes...hairs...fade of plant....I don't even really scope trichs... I mean I do...but: don't just go by trichs.

U make ur bug situation sound so awful I don't even wanna touch it....I fucking hate bugs.....yuck.....idk man I'd bbtrippin out....I'd take my plants outside....spray em down w hose...clean the fuck outta my grow room...like hospital clean...change my soil...and b done

Your telling me. Prior to this, I would flip. I cant stand bugs. I dont care what it is, get the shit away from me! But dealing with them now, on something you love, you learn to fight with them constantly. They dont bother me as much anymore, but they bother me that they are on my damn plants. I cant get too pissed about them, they were free plants, and from family sadly. They deal with this x 100+ plants. I could only imagine the constant battle. Im getting irritated with only 6 plants.. Just imagine 100 infested. I couldnt do it.

The wife was like, "gross your going to smoke bugs!"... Well thankfully the majority of the gnats are getting stuck to sugar leaves which will be cut during harvest. Just wish they weren't there to begin with.

I'm.sure we've smoked bugs before...j know I have...I bought a pound a brick weed one time n broke it open n was infested w baby spiders....millions...its was awful....when I was a kid I can remember smokin weed w mold on it too.....ha...n getting so high I got sick...I thought...haha...I was like 15......get ur bug problem under control man....they WILL ruin ur crop

Im just not sure what I should be doing to prevent this. I looked into mosquito dunks which reading about on here sound amazing for gnats, But I dont even have the extra $10 bucks for it. We are broke beyond broke right now, and will be a for a minute. Im un-employed. The wife works but pays all the bills. Every check is gone to that. When I get extra money, you know what it goes to. Im all set for round 2. Nutes, Lights, You name it, I already have it. But I just cant get my damn hand around bug control and its one thing im lacking in supplies.

Can I be spraying these plants? I always thought you are suppose to stay way the hell away from that?

Spray the plant for bugs and be done with it. You've smoked shit with much worse on it I guarantee it

Well I do smoke cigs so I would agree with that.

I just looked at the fruit tree spray and it says on the front that its safe to us all the way up to day of harvest so... Looks like I will be spraying.

Seein' how they're clones and you have them in pots take 'em into the bath or shower and sweep clean with soft brush then pump up your sprayer and blast the crap off them and down the drain. Cover the plantpots so as few critters as possible get in the pot. Raid the grow room and return the plants after the room has cleared. Did you take any snips off these clones? I only spray my plants will res water or fresh water.

Well I used the fruit tree spray and sprayed the eff out of them.

Was king of relieving.

Most of those gnats stuck to the sugar leaves that are impossible to pick off... Fell off when I sprayed. Which is awesome!
They have about 2 hours before lights go off, so that should be plenty to get the dry.

So I guess with all the opinions here, Plants are sprayed, and ill keep on keepin on till 63 days. Not much longer to go. I think my anxiety got me worried more than anything.

I do have clones off of them. I have 2 that are about 2ft-ish tall that came from the initial 6.
Those two I also took 6 clones off about 2 days ago.

They are looking good. No crazy mites, or gnats but again they are outside the tent and are treated for such every week.
