I know nothing about the little panels, but I bought a Procyon
100 a few years ago... Sigh.
It works really good in veg. On like 4 plants at a time.
And I tried to flower with it too. It did give me solid nugs,
But small. That was 100 watts. If you must buy the low watt
Panels, at least keep the cfl's in there too.
Man, no sales pitch but I think if you decide to keep growing
In the future, you will be sorry you spent the money on those
Panels. I wouldn't use less than 100 watts of led's.
If I were you I'd save for some led's with real power,
Or at least a 400 watter for flowering. Just my opinion.
Good luck.

I cant see that happening for myself, LIFETIME warranty on my most recent purchase, and I know they work, Im on my third run 100% LEDs.

I know you don't want to hear this but just buy a 150 Hps there like 80 dollars...I've used leds before and they did work in veg very well and I still use one on my clones...the problem isn't that they can't be used it's that you need real power to flower a decent plant end of story...by the way I have a book about the subject if you would...oh sorry good growing

I would love to see how much nicer your plants grown under 150watt hps are. You are saying that the plants I (and many others on the forum!!!) am growing are not decent? Perhaps your budget was too low to get a decent light... but what you are saying makes no sense.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of led's, but he's talking about
14 watters. Like I said, I don't know how much those 14 watt
Panels cost each, but c'mon, he would need like 10-20 panels
To be happy with his 4 month effort. Even if he is a casual smoker.
I'm just going by my personal 100 watt led experience.
Maybe 2 procyons would have increased my yield,
But I didn't want to experiment with 1,100 bucks for 200 watts.

If you dont want to put so much cash up front, fair enough, I understand it can be overwhelming when you are on a budget and the HPS route where you have to spend a little bit of money all the time as opposed to a bunch of money up front might be easier to digest.

try 1100$ for 4-500 watts, and thats great quality lighting too. dunno where you got 1100 $ for 200watts, even the most expensive leds arent that expensive. you are right though those 14watts panels arent worth the money, but look at the party cup competition, psycho has been growing his cup with those weak shitty panels and he is still getting results as good as anyone using cfls or better. personally I think long term and if I have to pay 1500$ for 600watts, so be it, minimum 4 crops a year and the light should last at least, AT LEAST, 5 years. anyway you look at it, good quality leds are so worth it.

Yeah when I bought my Procyon..sigh,
I paid 570.00 bucks for it. : (
So if I had bought 2 of them, I would have had a total
Of 200 usable watts. 570.00 for 100 watts!
But I had to see for myself. And I still use it for veg.
Man I get really lush growth with it.

no doubt, it sucks you had to pay so much!! next time around look at AREA 51 or FERO light ( I can speak for these brands because I am growing with them... ) very well priced, lifetime warranty and GREAT results, not only I, but many growers here in the LED section of RIU (The Dawg, Beefbiscuit ...) are doing very well with those lights. I have found that any LEDs, even the cheap one, will do great for veg, but the pudding is in the flowers!!!

thanks for the input from all of you do you all think the 14watters and my 105w cfl would amount to much? the auto assassin only has a 2month period from seed right now i have 10 23w cfl 65k the 105w 27k and like 3 other 27k range from 36-50w i have had my eye on leds for a while and i have seen them in action but i have yet to find a standard for LED like the 10,000 lumens per sqft for CFL or the what 50watts minimun with hps? i had a 400w hps in a 2*2 room it was amazing but the heat where i leave was hard to control. the cfl is a lower heat and around the same wattage LOL. Im only growing AUTO flower plants this year to compare to my main Violator kush,WW, and AK-48 grow last year SAME STRAIN ALL YEAR clones. so im scroggin with AA and CFL

It would be nice to drop the power bill and i think a mix of CFL and LED could work.

a 105w cfl emits 6000Lms.

But anyhow thank you all for your input i will experiment and Report maybe get some snaps. my plan is to bread Auto Assassin and (WoS: big bud x Northern lights) and AA x (WoS: afgahn Kush) that will be and entire diffrent post.

Keep Smoking And Happy Growing

Hi indoor,
I veg with my led, & cfl's. It works fine. The cfl's just cancel
Out alot of the pretty color the led' s put out. : )
I haven't looked at the 14 watt led's you want.
How much are they? Everything helps, it's like I said earlier
If those panels are kind of pricey, I would wait, save, and buy
Stronger led's. But if they are inexpensive to you, and you
Really have to have them, go for it, but buy more than 4.
If you can buy 7 at least. Now do the math. Is 4-7 panels
The same price as 1 90-100 watt led? If so, go with the 1 .

No what im saying is instead of buying a 14 watt panel and failing buy a cheap hps...and yes your plants are decent but you spent more than 39.00 bucks to get them...and a challenge watt for watt is interesting to me...maybe in the future we can setup a head to head thing...and I don't speak for everyone on this forum nor do I claim to know what they believe

First more than 40-50 ed watts per sft is not good.

Second, you only want low watt (1w) diode lamp/fixture

Third, most leds have fans so you need some space above to vent heat

Fourth, only use wide angle lenses, or none at all

Since you are a DIYer (me too) go to www.chinabuye.com and buy a bunch of low watt screw bulb leds and either buy a couple 2-3 bulb vanity fixtures, maybe some Y adapters and rock it.

I bought a ufo 90 some 3 years ago. I supplement with cfls but moving to leds

First..
He is talking 14 watts TOTAL POWER! F%#!k.
Second..
Sounding smug while being wrong makes you sound
like a douche.

Just buy a 600 watt hps setup.
Okand why is my message partly in blue?
