Just got my Titan Controls Helios 2. Already have my 50 amp breaker and wire installed, I was told multiple times that there are only 220 50 amp breakers. manual says connect Hot- GroundNeutral-Hot Then the easy guide says Hot-Ground-Neutral
open the back of the controller and it looks like this
120v_helios1_2.jpg

How do I connect this? do I need to buy a different breaker?

Just my .02, being from a family of union electricians.

If the Helios says 120v only, then connect it to 120v, don't try and make a 240v connection.

Check the product number vs. the one you wanted to make sure they are the same. I would hate to see you go through the trouble to rewire something or make changes, only to realize that you received the wrong one from the get-go.

But we need to know what wire your running.. I'm assuming #2 wire?

That is very obviously a 120 v control box, not a 220v.... that should be hooked up just like the label indicates.... They do make 50a 120v single pole breakers....

specs on that control box are 120v/50a/60hz

The min wire size for a 120v 50a breaker is 8awg, max is 6awg.

Thank you for all the responses. Got sick then holiday, what a fun weekend. Found out the issue, first the people at the local professional electrical store, no not lowes lied to me and said there was no such thing as a single pole 50 am breaker. Second issue was my manual was printed wrong... I did call the manufacture, best support I have ever dealt with in any field. They told me hook it up just the way it says on the back of the box and ignore the easy guide and manual. Also informed me that a 2 pole breaker with just using a single pole on it would work. Controller is working great.
