need cfls for flower

what cfls do i need for flower? got 3 plants currently on 9 42 watt cfl 1600 lumens, 6500k... someone told me to run "red spec" not sure what that means. help appreciated!

pretty sure those are the ones you need to flower.. when theyre on does it glow redish orange? or blue?

You want something with a low color temperature. 2600K is good. 6500K or so is blue and good for vegging.

I can't say for sure but cfl's put out more heat watt for watt compared to hps, fact. hps is far superior to cfl's for budding, fact. Either way you are going to need proper ventilation, fact. Those are just some things to think about.

What the shit? CFL's dont put out much heat at all. That's why so many people use them for stealth and cheap grows. You don't need ventilation. Have you even ever used a CFL? You can touch these bastards without problem.

i dont know what CFL's your using? people us them because theyre cheap... and you can buy them at almost any store... not because they dont get hot. cuz trust me.. they get hot!!!

Yes... They get a little bit hot. But compared to a good HID? Its nothing. Minimal. In my small grow spaces, i don't even need ventilation when i use CFL's. You obviously have never used a good HID if you think CFL's get hot!

let me see how long you can touch a CFL after they been on for a while. ill give you 20 bucks for every second.

Are you serious? Firstly, i have just made at least 100 dollars outta you if we actually tried this. Secondly. He was comparing the heat output of CFL to a HID. I will give you 20 bucks if you can touch a HID thats been on for a while without ventilation, and without ya finger burning to hell.
