I got some 45w 2900lumen CFL's that i will be using for vegging. I was planing on hanging 1 CFL above each plant.

Would this work okay?

How many inches away from the plant should they be?

that worked for me, more is better, and put them as close as possible without touching.

They get kinda warm tho, i don't think i can get them as close as i had my tubes.

Would 2 or 3 inches above be okay? or is that too far?

they do get hot, but do not burn unless they are touching the plants.. they also dont emit alot of that heat. mine did not burn unless it physically touched the leaf.

where did you find the 45 watt bulbs at?
