NEED ADVICE when to flower??? 179W CFLs, first grow!

So I'm growing 4 plants right now under 179W of 5 cool white CFLs: 3 x 23W 6500K, 1 x 42W 2700K, and 1 x 68W 2700K. I have attached pics, but they are all about 6 inches tall right now, about 4 weeks old, and the most developed has about 6 nodes.

I am wondering when is the best time to flower??? Assuming 2 of the 4 plants will be female, theoretically I can put each one under the full 179W for 12 hours if I keep switching them. So my real question is, how tall should I grow them before I switch to 12/12 if I want to maximize my yield without buying more lights?

When you feel they're ready. Keep in mind they're going to double in size once you start flowering so you'll want to take into consideration the size of your grow room. But they're looking lovely, i'm no expert my opinion would be wait another 2 weeks or just go off when you feel they're ready. Not sure if there is any significant difference but i was advised to 'top' the plants 2 weeks before flowering to maximise yields.

Firstly, it may be prudent to repot them into a pot that is full of medium. When the roots grow out of the soil in those pots they will die. Secondly, to maximize I would top them and wait a few days and then start an LST. If you need more info on that there is a ton of it available on RIU. Good luck and +rep for taking the leap into farming.

Oh and also, looks like they need a drink. When the leaf edges curl up like that it usually means the plant is trying to retain moisture.

id still get an hps. it will increase ur bud size and density. start flowering anytime u feel like it. just remember some plants double if not tripple in size in flower. so u will need the extra light to cover the growth cuz i dont think ur cfls will cut it if u let them get much bigger.
