need advice... lots!!!

help stoners,
i am 3 weeks in. have a couple that are streching. is that normal? i am using the areogarden. i need some advice. please!!!.

how many lights do you have and what kind?

2 60hz 26watts.they came with the areo garden

That is alot of stretching.....take the light off of the base and put some eye screws in it. Get an old dog chain and hang it up no more the 2 inches above the plants. Get some wood sticks and prop those bad boys up till the are strong enough to stand on their own. Put a SMALL fan in there on low speed. The air movment will make the stem stronger. You will need stronger lights if you want any kind of yeild. You will be able to flower with the AG but with the 4 months of work you put into it the yeild will not be worth it in the long run. Buy a HPS setup and build yourself a grow room. The AG will be perfect for cloning and mother plants.


Edit: Here is a pic of the last day of week 3 from seed sprout. As you can see the top light has been pulled up for pics...but i have added simple lights on the side that have helped alot.

yeah, you need more light. if you're not up to purchasing an hps setup... (I wasn't either.) drop the lights directly over the plant at about 2 inches, and use the fan as unique said. also, if your lights give off an orange or yellowish light, cop a couple daylight cfls for supplemental lighting, they won't stretch nearly as much. also, 42 watts is not nearly enough for 6 plants??? this may also be the culprit, in seedling stage i'd say that would be fine, but at this point it would be wise to at the very least invest in 4-5 extra daylight cfls.

I also bought the aerogarden and just produced my first plant. The only problem is it never buded so I pulled it up and broke the aerogarden down. Possible to try again?? Could it have been a male plant? What should I do with it?

Its like the guys said before me: "your plants are stretching because they're reaching for the light. SO. Drop that light to an inch above the tallest plant. You will keep them alive, thats all. This light is not enough to get ANYTHING, and I'm talking about vegging here, forget blooming this way. You need to scrape some money together and get yourself a 400 watt HPS light kit. When your clones are way bigger, cut them in half so they will branch out and you'll get more colas. With good nutes and a 400 Watt hps you can then expect about 4-6 Oz. of dried weed, with your setup the plants will die. GET A 400 WATT KIT A S A P.

forget the hps set up. Go to home depot and get 120 watt fluorescent fixture, way less heat and energy and great for veggin. For now lower your lights to about 2 inches but watch closely as you will have to move them up Move your tall ones to the outside and the shorter ones to the inside.
