Need advice: Is it too late for an outdoor auto grow?

Hi. I'm a new grower.

I was thinking about ordering some auto seeds to see if I could get another outdoor harvest in this season.
I have a few autos going now outdoors, but I have run into a few problems like weather, pests, inexperience....lol, so my harvest is going to be smaller than I would like.

I live in the south central US. Our first frost here is typically the first week in November.
If I order seeds now, I should be able to get them shipped to me and have them started by August 1st. Has anyone ever started outdoor autos that late in the season with any type of success? Do I stand a chance at a late-season harvest, or would I just be throwing money away on seeds? If the frost holds off until Nov. 1st, that should give me 90 days of growing, but I'm not sure about the strength of the sun, etc....

I welcome any advice and comments. If you think it's possible, do you have any recommendations for auto-strains that are good outdoors, fast growers, and give a nice yield? I'm going to try to purchase my seeds from Seedsman tomorrow if any of you experienced growers think it's possible.

You would be wasting your money. I also live in the the south of the USA, and the plants will start to flower here outdoors in late August. Outdoors takes a bit longer so you def would be wasting your time and money.

I might try a few seeds as an experiment, but I'll save most of my seeds for next spring.
I ordered an Auto strain by Female Seeds called Speed Bud. It's supposed to go from seed to harvest in just 53 days, yielding 40-80 grams. I'm going to give it a shot. If I fail, I'll have learned a lesson. If I succeed, I'll hopefully have a couple ounces of some good, homegrown bud.

LOL, speed bud? That shit sounds like a marketing scheme, my "green" brother; what is the orthogonal distance you are from the equator? In other words draw a line from your city "purp"-pendicular to the equator. How far are you in miles?

I agree with Alex....you can use the tag-team approach, when sunny keep them outside, when the weather becomes nasty move them inside

And the indoor-outdoor technique will kill sativa's so if you plan on listening to these guys do not grow sativa's, unless you are good with them, then they will do O.K., not great. Especially true in the south with sativa's, which is where the grower said they are located. That is considering this person runs their AC at 70 degree's Fahrenheit like my wife. Sativa's do not like the massive change in temperature from the 100 degree's to the 70 degree's. And, we tend to get a lot of storms here in the south toward August. Hail and all. Wacka Wacka.

I got my seeds in today from Attitude. I think I'm going to go ahead and try a couple Speed Bud seeds outdoors. I've got them in a paper towel now.
I may try to grow some indoors too. I bought a grow tent, fan and filters, and some cfls awhile back that I need to put together. I've never grown indoors, but maybe it's time to get my feet wet

Indoors is great. You can grow photoperiod strains year round which are typically much stronger than an auto flower and yield more. Plus if you fuck up somewhere in veg your plant has a time to recover.

I have an auto flower running with my photo periods right now on the 12/12 cycle, looks pretty great.

Also, the best part about photoperiod in general is you can take clones and not have to buy seeds!

if u do try another auto flower I recommend thc bomb auto by bomb seeds...finished fairly fast (about 80 days) and it smells so strongly of dank berries...seriously, the smells so intense i cant open the jar without the whole house smelling like it.

not to mention it knocks me on my ass bongsmilie
