Necessity for gardening lime?

Hey everyone
I have a question regarding gardening lime.
A few posters here recommended i top dress my pots with gardening lime after a few recent issues with my plants. (These are now sorted for the most part, thanks are due to max, jawbrodt, sparkafire, and kinggrow1 for their valued input!)
It took me a while to get some of the lime, but now that the plants are on the mend, should I still top dress? As in, is top dressing with lime a good idea regardless of whether or not your plants are having pH or cal/mg issues?
Next time, ill mix some in with the soil!

If you are in a peat based mix, I would say most certainly, yes.

Yeah, about 50% peat in my soil. Think ill give it a go on one of them and see how it goes.

If you don't use lime then your likely to run into ph problems, but remember lime takes a while to actually start working
