Ok guys I run a hydro shop so I have lots of toys play with. I have a lot newbies asking about Hydro-organic. Traditionally I say it can't be done successfully without doing a res change every two days. So I heard about Nature Nectars the first Hydro-organic ORMI listed nutes. So I ordered a case of each. After reading the feeding schedule I was informed that you do not adjust the pH, PPM's will not read and do not inject with air stones.
I thought these claims are kinda crazy. So I have a extra Turbo Garden from Botanicare its like a 18" x 3' ebb n flow, I threw a 400 HPS over the table. And threw a Beef master tomato plant in a 15 gallon pot that's about 3 foot wide and about 3 foot tall.
I started the plant with tea's I was brewing and its been doing great!
But for the sake of science and the lack of information online about Natures Nectar I'm doing experiment with the line.
Now they claim no need to adjust the pH, but after adding the nutes to RO water I threw a pH meter in to see where it was at. and it was like 3.9 now im a hydro guy and I know 3.9 is not good. So I called higrow corp which makes it. They said add more P and it will raise the pH and that K will lower it. But the feeding chart said nothing about that.. So I said fuck it.. pH it is after 6 tbsp. of pH up for 25 gallon res I was at 6.0
I will have to say I used a shit load to get the suggested amounts on the feeding chart.. It was 40 tsp of N, 80 tsp of P and 80 tsp of K for 25 gallons, I thought that was a lot for 25 gallons maybe not.
I think I also need the Add Guano too... For the micro but I built the soil so Im going to skip that..
When I get home tonight I will post pics and this is going to be a journal on this line and this plant..
So stayed tuned to see the results.
