Mylar? Foil? Mirrors?

I am using a shower stall to grow in.
what should I line the walls with?
A friend said use old cds.

Is it the reflective properties that matter? Or is it an insulation type deal?

mylar or flat white gives you the best reflection.

It has glossy white tiles. Is this sufficient?
On the door I was gonna hang a mirror.

I think it also kinda depends on what type of lighting/heat issues you might encounter? As I understand it, HID lighting finds "hot spots" in some materials, or hanging methods, that can burn tender foliage?

That's what a lighting footprint is... one big hotspot.

I say just leave it how it is and maybe hang a white sheet across the door.

thanks for the tips guys!
this is a first grow and would like at least have the plants flower.... kinda like a preseason game!
For lights I am going to use a flood type lamp over head.
small oscilating fan as well.

I will post pictures when I am done.

First off, never ever use mirrors, they are a bad idea.

Second I hope you mean an HPS flood light fixture when you say type, I'm sure you are, but if not, don't ever use flood light bulbs, they aren't what you want.

Glossy isn't exactly what you want either. I've never heard of the CD idea, sounds inpractical.

YES I AM USING THE HPS STYLE "AUTOMOTIVE SPOTLIGHTS".

i THINK I AM GING TO JUST HANG WHITE SHEETS IN THERE TO BALANCE IT ALL OUT.
How high should the light be from the plants?
IS ONE ENOUGH FOR THE 4?

Well do to some restraints I am switching to CFLs I have 2 100w on them now.
I lost a plant during a transfer. So I have 3 little sprouts.
Gonna finalize the grow room tommorow. and get some pics.

Can you post a link to these lights you plan on using, Automotive Spotlights, sounds like you might want to rethink it.

As far as the other question, how about this chart, I've never seen it posted here so I'll put it up so it will be in every post in about a month.

i ditched the spot lights for CFLs.
I have 2x100 watt about 4 inches from the sprouts.

should i be using more power?
