my take on colorado weed

not to say my home grown is better,

but i was not impressed with the 15 or so top shelf strains i tried thru out the state.

i found the buds really dry...no need for scissors or a grinder.

and i even found 2 mature seeds in a bud from maggies farm.

colorado is beautiful and the people are so nice and friendly, and fit!

You'll have the same experience in WA.
Store shelves are full of not-so-fresh cannabis -- especially pre-rolls.

And it's expensive! Anything decent will run $300/oz easy.

Black market growers get 150 - 200, depending on quality.

Bud shops in CO is 70-99$ an oz. 93% shatter is 16-25$ a gr. Top shelf pre rolls are grinded and rolled on demand in some better shops.
Black market bud is 60$ a z.

Tourist shops are sketchy at best.

I have a friend who buys 10 pounds a month @1600 per delivered to Florida. It's ok, and has a tremendous smell, but I've grown out some of the seeds and it was a lot better with very little smell after cut.

Everything I got from the shops there was garbage. All the locals i met told me if I wanted good bud to get it from the black market.

That's cheap, when I was in Florida a 55lb bale was 10k.

Don't go to shops down town, close to the interstate, airport, cheap looking or one location only.

The shops out here tend to try to get the "produce" out the door as quickly as possible. If your headed to Colorado, do your research. Some shops are way better than others.

150-200???? I'm either over charging or we are that behind over here. People i actually like pay 250 for a whole one.

I was staying up on Monarch mountain. My mom's got a place there. I stayed for a month and hit all the shops in Salida, then started to hit shops in every other town we'd visit. I had a couple of samples that I'd say were "ok" but the rest were trash. Horribly cured, bone dry and none would burn in a joint, and left a charcoal nugget when you tried to smoke in a pipe. I actually had a chick in a shop tell me that a variety I was looking at "wasn't that great right now" because the clone mother was getting a little old. I wanted to tell her that the best strain I ever had was cloned for over 15 years. Seemed to me that every 25 year old up there gets 5 grand worth of equipment then calls themselves a "master grower. My buddy worker for the largest grower in the state. He won't even smoke their bud. he says it's trash. I know why extracts are so popular there....Because their bud is crap and that's all they can do to catch a buzz that last more than 30 minutes. lol

Not a fan of moth eggs and mite shit either.

About the same as the that campfire Kush that's swamped the area

Is this what we get to look forward to in a couple weeks when our rec shops are supposed to open? I'm not going for a couple months until I get some feedback anyway, and then only to find some new strains I like, to grow myself.

Pay for weed?

My friend is a tower crane operator and was doing a job in Denver, he met some growers and helped them trim and stuff. He was trying to learn to grow but figured out that it's cheaper for him to just buy it on that kind of scale and a lot less work.

I know another guy who gets a lot of popular strains from a colarodo grower ( Bruce Banner, Durban Poison, Super Silver Haze, Blue Dream, blah blah blah ) his shit is good really good but it's very expensive. All perfectly trimmed , dense, clean nuggets, right amount of smell, looks good under a scope...... it kinda blew his mind when I showed up with a scope to get a QP, he said that I was the only one who has ever done that.....we became friends instantly.

If he has a chance, have him snag you some death star or pink Kush. Those two strains have been quite decent lately.

Mmm death star is one of my favorites.

Hello from Alaska where Uncle Butthole here was persona non grata in Fairbanks when we went legal and it opened. Experience in Colorado, Washington and Oregon were far better. A little over a year after the doors opened bud is still dry as hell and uncured. Prices are coming down but I will say mine is better. The pro shops are money people. Not growers . Growers get used. Some freely tossed but there goes all the secrets. $10 @ gram is special price. Usually low quality.

The first shop to open tossed one of their growers when he complained they had PM . They sold clones anyway and inevitably everything about it blew up. They blamed it on the guy they had fired for complaining about it. Egos run rampant.
