My Reservoir is in the 80s. Please help!!

Ok I just transplanted last night into my aeroponic systems. I checked the temp in the reservoirs this morning and they are around 83-85. I put H2O2 in the res to begin with and plan on doing it every other day. Should I have anything to worry about with my res temps as high as they are, even using H2O2? I am using a 400w MH with 70 cfm exhaust fan and the fan visible in the photograph to move air around. Can anyone think of a simple solution for such a small grow room?

Rez temps that high in dwc will be detrimental, I have not had any experience with aero. Look into this product, Dutch Master Zone , its a rez sterilizer that prevents the bad bacteria from getting a foothold in the higher temps and root rot begin to rear its head. This, imo, is far superior to h202 which breaks down and will vary in concentration pretty quickly.

Wrap the rez in Reflectix and that will help keep it insulated.

I See Mylar on the walls and cinder blocks under the res so I would guess its in a basement?

you could simply have a second reservoir not under your lights, if it is in a basement or sitting on Mother Earth it will be cooler.

it increases the volume of water by 2 or more which will also lower the temp a little and it gives you a place to drain from or add water or Nutes.
all you need is a ? feet of tubing and two cheap pumps to exchange water and another larger container try twice the volume of the grow res.
The pumps exchange the water between the plant res and the cool water res....
if the pumps run 24/7 you will have no need for an air stone in the second resevoir.
just a thought.

Another Great idea, Insulate the Res, What he said!

H2O2 does turn to water real quickly from what I read. So as you suggested, I will pick up a bottle of Dutch Master Zone and a roll of Reflectix today. If I use Dutch Master Zone, what is the highest temp I can maintain without root issues, in your opinion?

Thanks for the info from everyone. It is greatly appreciated. Dogenzengi, I am growing in the side of a closet in my bedroom. Its 3.5' x 2.5' x 5.5'. The light is hanging just under the shelf in the closet. Its a pretty confined space and I have it removed from the rest of the closet by thick black plastic with some vent holes cut in it (pics below). Yes, I am using mylar on the walls and cinder blocks to move the plants up/down as the light is fixed. Each of the two 4-pot containers has its own reservoir, air stone, and sprinkler beneath it. I am also adding a 2 gallon res Hydrofarm drip system today when I get more hydroton. Now what I'm thinking about doing in the future is building a water table for a flood & drain setup with the res beneath it. If/when I get that going I am going to use your alternate, offset res idea. It makes sense but I don't think its feasible for me with the multiple reservoirs I have to maintain right now. Or what do you think now that you have more detail?

I run a Res out side of my tent for Flower. Water stays room temp, 10-12 degrees cooler than inside of tent.
my Veg space is CFL and has an A/C supply so The reservoir for that is below the table

Ok I went to my local hydro shop and showed the guy the manual for my aeroponic garden setup along with the specs for the water pumps. He believes the pump is of a heavy duty variety, which is causing it to generate heat in the water.

He suggested putting a 2 liter soda bottle of frozen water in each res, which I have read on many a post about res heat on this forum. Of course I will have to change it out hopefully no more than once a day.

He also said that heat in the water zaps oxygenation but because I have good sized air stones aside from my water pumps, the plants roots should still get plenty of oxygen. But he did agree that it needs to come down a bit. It seems to top out at 85 degrees.

I have the soda bottles freezing right now. I am freezing 4 so I can switch them out (1 in each of the 2 reservoirs) as needed. The HyrdoFarm drip system only uses an air stone so it will give me something to compare water temps in my aero garden reservoirs too. I will post updates when available in case anyone needs to know how long a frozen 2 liter bottle of water helps with res temp issues in a 4 gallon res.;-)

Getting a grow tent is a new dream of mine lol. I conquered one by beginning to grow. I have watched YouTube videos and manufacturers' videos and the tents definitely look self-sufficient as as compact as you need them. Did you buy your tent prefabbed or did you make it yourself?

i have heard of people lowering res temps 10 degrees by having a very small computer fan blowing over the top of water. im not sure if this could help you but its def cheaper then buying a chiller.

Cheap temp fix. Put. Frozen 2 liter bottle of water in rez. Move your rez. to coolest place possible

how often is your pump running? do you have it on a good timer like http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00286QNDM/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1n i love those things

if you let it run continuous your going to be getting well into the 90s quick.
Oh yeah sorry. I do run it continuously. I am building a custom, wooden 3' x 2.5' x 1' aeroponics box with a water proofed and plastic covered interior. I'm hoping the bigger res will help keep the temp down as well. What do you think?

There's someone called "growcolt" selling regular timers modified into cycle timers perfect for areoponics. Youtube has a video of him doing it. Looked really easy. I have two of them.
That's good to know. I'll check out the video because store bought cycle timers aren't cheap. Thanks for the info.
