My Process

Alright everyone,
I live in Michigan right now and I plan on starting my first grow in the summer. Because I live in Michigan we have a shorter summer. I have been doing some research online and i found a few things out. I know that the last frost in Michigan is usually around late may early June and the last frost is around the middle of September. I think I will start the germination around the middle of may, then veg them for a couple weeks in a veg room. which I also need to know a little bit more about a veg room (lights, time on and off, etc.) Then after a couple weeks I plan on removing them from the veg room and placing them in an area that I picked out to grow them in their final stages. when should I put them outside to be safe? any information will do me good. thank you

the earlier you can get them out there the better. They'll start to flower around the end of june or beginning of july so keep that in mind. the issue you'll run into is the plant not staying in vegetative growth very long and not getting real big. it'll grow fine regardless. basically the longer you can veg it the better your yield will be whether you veg indoors or out. unless you have no space at all to grow i would veg it for atleast a month indoors then if june is the earliest it can go outside it'll still have another month of veg time before it starts to flower.

yeah it'll need atleast 18 hours of light a day. I leave my lights on 24 hours a day so they'll grow as fast as possible. if you're just going to grow a few plants then i'd pick up some 6500k cfl bulbs. They're cheap and do a good job.

I have the lights already and i know theyll do the job. So i should veg them inside for a month then move them outside for another month of vegging. then theyll go into the flowering stage themselves?

yeah cannabis is photoperiodic which means it changes from it's vegetative state to it's flowering state based on the amount of light it gets. the end of june is when the summer solstice and that's when the days start getting shorter and the plants will get less light. that triggers them to go into their flowering stage. if you were growing indoors then all you do to get them to start flowering is cut the lights back to only 12 hours a day.

the longer you veg the bigger your plant and yield will get. vegging it for two months then flowering the rest of summer will give you a pretty nice plant

it depends on a lot of stuff like your soil, what kind of nutrients it's getting, how many lumens of light its getting, if it's got a fan on it. there's a ton of stuff that affects the grow and i don't know half of it but those are the basic things to look at while growing indoors. but on average you could probly get your plant a foot tall in a month given decent conditions. they'll double or triple in size during flowering too. so if you can get a 2 foot plant by the end of june you could be dealing with a 4 foot garden of weeden by the end of summer
