My plant split in half!!??? Help!!??

I have a 4 1/2 foot tall plant vegging outdoors.
Today I was trying to train it, and I ended up splitting it down the middle a few inches, from the point where i topped it.

I taped the two sides back together.
Will it heal itself?
I feel like shit

Please get back to me, if you have any idea about this situation.

It should heal fine, wow id feel like ass too.

yes the plant will most likely heal its self you can break the branches on a plant and it will heal its called supercropping so just let the plant be and it will better itself the main branch will prob be all twisted and strong better to hold the big buds up

It should heal itself, but I would try to splint it with a couple hose clamps and a bunch of pencils lol sounds funny but it would work

If the tape will hold it, leave it like that for a few days

It should heal itself - although I don't think I would've used tape...maybe a strip of some cotton material wrapped around. Don't feel so bad either. I'm pretty sure it's happened to almost all of us. The hubby and I had one he dropped a screwdriver on (while improving the grow area) which snapped the main stem...not all the way through, but almost. I got a BBQ skewer for support, wrapped some soft cloth around the stem and skewer, and it healed itself in three days. There was a "bump" or ball-like area where it healed, but the plant was fine.

LOL nah its in my back yard.

I've split a couple mothers on purpose. I usually top a clone after a couple nodes, wait until the stem is thicker, and just pull the top stems apart and split the main stem right down to the pot. leave it a few days so the stem dries out, and you know the plant isn't dying (not happened yet) then tie them down to the pot.
You end up with a real low wide plant, great for a very generous mother

So yeah, to answer,it'll be fine, plants can take a lot of abuse

Give it a go, I'll get some pics of my latest snappee sorted.
Just give it time to settle after you split the stem right down, after a major operation like that you'd want a few days to recover!

I'm going to train the inner 2 branches to cover the middle, and top every growtip that comes. I've got this under a 600w hps on 18/24 atm (got a few auto ak's going for a quick fix) so it's sprouting new growth all the time.

I just had mine split in what seems similar, will she recover from this?

Nice yeah mine seemed to take it well lol I did that about 24 hrs ago and she (or he heaven forbid lol) didn't even droop

This happened soo long ago lol
Well to anyone wondering yes itll heal perfectly fine as long as ya bandage the split back to its natural form.
Duct tape has worked the best over the years since this post in 2010 lol
