comment. its growing straight up . about 1 month old and about 20 inches high. When will it branch out?? or will it stay that way.

You will need to tip it, which means to take off the new set of leaves sprouting at the top. then it will sprout two branches instead of one, you can do this a couple of times.

Your light is either too small or the wrong kind, and it's too far away from your plant. If you don't change anything, yes it will always stay that way.

i woke up this morning to see little branches between the stem and leaf.( about time) i should give it about another month befor flowering. i will try to post sum pics soon.

get some CFL bulbs and place them close to the top of the plant. newbies sometimes try to grow with incandescent bulbs and place them very far away. Marijuana plants can't use the light emitted from those bulbs and especially at a distance, causing the plant to stretch and look for light it can use, along with not properly developing due to lack of proper photosynthesis etc.

Are the lights cfl's?? if so you can have then literally a cm away from the plant without it burning, I have (1) 42 watt and (4) 13 or 26 watt cfls ( dont remember) and they are all literally touching the leaves and have been for weeks and i havent had a burnt leaf since she was a week and a half old.

be careful w/the cfls, some brands and verions will get really really hot too. do you have any pics yet? what node is it on?
