The 3 day old plant is indoor in a pot of potting soil with the shell still falling off. How many ml of water should i give it at one time? Also how often does it need water? Sorry, Im a newbie, its probably a dumb question but i don't want to screw up haha. Thanks

Gently pull the shell off. Water only when dry.

yes be very carefully. I usually try to pull the shell off too, but today I killed a seed by doing this. I tried to pull the shell off and it broke from the taproot. But as far as watering, yes you just want the soil moist and only water after it has dried, .....SO example, if you water today and it is still moist tomorrow, then wait, if the first inch or so of soil is dry then re-water. But if is is still moist, just wait and check the next day

You could try germinating in a paper towel and baggie next time. The moist(not soaking wet) paper towel will give it all the water it needs until it sprouts and the shell falls off. You usually get better germination rates that way as well.

thanks you guys, i bought some floranova grow all in one nutrient but iv heard it will kill the little seedling if i use it too early... so would you guys recommend after like 3 weeks or so?

I've got one right now that the shell came off but part of the inner cover stayed on. The 2ndary leaves grew out and the first 2 are still stuck together. It's kind of comical to see I want to know how big it can get with the 2 stuck. 3 days isn't that long, if you're gonna take the shell off make sure to wash your hands with antibacterial soap first esp if you smoke, nicotine kills plants. Save any nutes that aren't organic in the soil til around 3-4 weeks. If you really feel they need it you can dilute the hell out of them and spray the plant.
In the future you can try using a shot glass full of water, in a dark warm drawer or with another cup over it for 18 hours, then wrap it in a papertowel, fold it into a thin strip, then fold it 3 times with the seed in the middle. Wet it and put it in back in the shot glass with the water at the bottom. This will keep the paper towel damp and let Oxygen get to the roots. Then leave it in a warm dark place and ignore it for 3-4 days before you plant it, then plant it pointy part down, tap root up. That should have your seed strong enough that it should be able to push the seed open rather quickly when it pops. Sometimes the shell doesn't come off because it hasn't grown as much root structure as it needs.

start using it right now... it cant get worst
PLEASE do not use what this man is saying. If you germinate in a paper towel, when the tap root pops out, you can then plant it in your medium of choice. DO NOT use nutrients yet, as it cant get "worst" if your sprout is dead. You should start with 1/4-1/2 strength nutes about two weeks in, or when you find it necessary.
As far as your original qualm with the shell not falling off, some people wait, some people take it off themselves. If you are going to remove it, remove it EXTREMELY gently, as you dont want to permanently damage the sprout.
Hope i helped, and good luck.
