My newborns are wilting! HELP!

Ok, I have 12 little ones, and they have been growing really good. But here let me elaborate.

When I first began to grow them, I honestly didnt think they'd actually grow so I kinda just put some backyard soil in a pot and stuck a few in that. Then I put 2 in nothing but water. And kept some aside(didnt plant them).

Well, the ones in the water actually started to sprout a bit. But I was worried about drowning them. And I started to worry about the ones I buried in the backyard soil, because this soil was nearly clay like. So I CAREFULLY broke apart the bad soil and got out the seeds. To my surprise a few had actually broke open and was starting to sprout. (I was VERY careful not to hurt them as I took them out of the soil). So I had read online about germinating the seeds by sticking them in a moist towel or whatnot. So I did that, and I also did that to the ones I had in the water because I was afraid of drowning them. I still kept a lot of water around them, to keep them moist. I stuck them in the sun, so they could get some light energy, and went to the store to buy REAL pots and soil and such.

Well, when I got back, ALL the water had dried up and my seeds were nearly burnt!! The little sprouts were dried. I figured they were dead, and that there was no hope for them left, but I still planted them in the good soil, and watered them every day. I also planted the others that I had saved back. After a few days, to my surprise EVERY SINGLE ONE of them had sprouted, and was looking GREAT. I was quite happy to be honest. This whole time I had kept them in the sunlight, and watered them nearly every day.

Well, I started getting worried about overwatering them, so I backed off of that. Not only that, but I decided to try to sit them a little back further in the shade so no one would see them on my back pourch. Well, they were ok for a few days, but just TODAY I went to check on them, and sure enough, a few had fell over!! They are still green, but their stems are very weak.

One thing I was not sure about was I DID start using miracle grow(but I was VERY careful not to use too much) a couple days ago.

Well, freaked out about my plants (Which are still quite small, they all only have 4 little leaves) wilting, I decided to go ahead and re-pot the bigger ones in a bigger pot. And stick them all back in the sun. I gave all of them more soil and stuck something in the soil to try to help them stand up(twist tie things).

SO Now you all know the whole story, let me get to my questions:

Should I STOP watering them with Miracle grow? If I do, will they perk back up?
Or was it the SUN? Because they were used to being in the sun, and I stuck them in the shade?
OR Was it because I didnt water them every day like I used to?
And is tie-ing them up with a twisty(quite loosely, Im not trying to strangle them!) a good idea or not?
Or is it because the weather has been slightly too cool for them?

Someone PLEASE help, as this is my FIRST time ever growing and I really dont want to lose these newborns!!:cry:

Some pics would help if you have them. I have never done soil grow but I have read a lot of forums where people seem to be pretty opposed to using miracle grow and like other nutrients instead, but what do I know. I am doing hydro so I don't know if there is a difference but what I will say is with anything really young doesn't need too much fertilizer too until it starts getting bigger. I had to keep my nutrients to a minimum my plants first few weeks in my system. Wish I could answer you more on this. I have heard its pretty hard to overwater marijuana as long as you have good drainage so I would not over-worry about that, but I would watch the fertilizer.

Ok, here are some pictures....

This one you can see is laying on its side.... :(

This one is leaning too....

As well as this one...but this is one that is in a bigger pot..

Here is one of my "stronger" ones....in a bigger pot

And this is 2 of my small ones that are still in the small pots

they are sorely over stretched because they are trying to reach the sun, I would read some outdoor grow threads and see do those guys just throw their seeds outside or do they get them established inside under a flora tube....next time you repot if they make it that long then bury the whole stem up to the first set of leaves.

They don't look too strechted to me  look similar to my seedlings. Is the soil like soaked in water or something? The only time mine wilt is when I overwater. If theirs no light on them for over a day then they might fall (not sure cause I've never had it happen to me).

Yes they're still too young

Or was it the SUN? Because they were used to being in the sun, and I stuck
depends on how long they were out of the sun.

OR Was it because I didnt water them every day like I used to?
...okkayy you probably overwatered them.

And is tie-ing them up with a twisty(quite loosely, Im not trying to strangle them!) a good idea or not?
it works for me (I do the same thing)

Or is it because the weather has been slightly too cool for them?
I would think not

Wow you didn't sound that concerned when you started. If you treat a plant like shit. Guess what that is what you end up with. Instead of asking these question get on the grow faqs and learn learn learn. By this time tomorrow you will have this all figured out by the knowledge gained and you won't act like a ass with the next grow.

Ok, I'll stop with the miracle grow.

They were in the shade for about 3 days...but some sun still was able to reach them..just not AS direct as before..

OR Was it because I didnt water them every day like I used to?
...okkayy you probably overwatered them.
If I overwatered them as seedlings and they sprouted healthy, but I stop watering them as often, will they be ok? When should I water them? When the soil is dry to the touch?

Cool cool.

Ok, cool. I know indoor growers use heat lamps, so I was just wondering if the coolness affected them somehow.

When I was re-potting, I added more soil to the pots to help support the stems, so your advise would be to add more soil to help support them?

I wasnt as concerned at first because I didnt know they would actually grow. Once I started to see that they were cracking open and that there WAS life in them, then I became concerned. I didnt have much of a budget to work with, so I wanted to make sure there was signs of life before I invested in them. Ive never grown ANY plant let along marijuana seeds, so I didnt know that there would be life in the seeds after such a long time(I had the seeds for QUITE a while). I have read the faq's...all of it. And I did learn a lot, but some questions werent asked...and with my luck with being able to accquire ANY weed let along some seeds is VERY rare...(I dont have any connections, and the connection I DID have came from a different state but THEIR connection just got cut off!) I REALLY want these plants to grow. So once they started to grow, I began to have more hope....and I SERIOUSLY dont want them to die on me!!

yeah they'll be fine if you change up waterings. just water them when they begin to droop thats what I do and it works fine. Or buy a moisture gauge for like 5$ from Wal-Msrt.

Also, i would reccomend looking up the uses of green tea on cannabis, google it or something, I Havent tried it but ive heard things, And for god sakes, Dont give them any more miracle grow, But supposedly green tea if sprinkled a bit on the soil and watered over is supposed to help the stocks get alot of strength. Im not sure about this like i said, But do a little research, this is also my first grow, And i will tell you, The grow FAQ can do amazing things, and next time, make sure ur prepared ahead of time, i made the same mistake. But. Good luck man. seriously. And, investing some money into the care of those plants will do them alot of good, Theres so many different ways to grow, For a beginner i wanna say my method is the simplest. Build a small grow room, And buy and grow with CFL's it sounds like a big step, But i guarantee you have alot of the stuff to do it already and you dont even know it. But seriously READ READ READ!. Just like me you'll realize your hindsights 20/20 ;) but good luck doing whatever you want to do. Ive only had to invest like $30 so far. And my plants r doing great, There still smaller then yours right now though, But there healthy little girls. "hopefully" "knock on wood". So you should check out my grow log, The link is right below in my signature.

Ah yeah, I get ya. And thanks, I'll DEFINATELY look that up. :)
However, I WISH I could invest more in them, but as of right now Im jobless(damn college) and I dont have not even a dollar to my name. And honestly Im not sure if my dad will help out or not, he kinda wants them to be successful cause he too enjoys a good smoke when its free...but at the same time hes paranoid so I think hes kinda 50/50 with the idea and so Im not sure if he'll help me at all. However, what I plan on doing....and this all rides on the success of THESE buds...is...if these babies are successful, I'll have a job by sometime this summer, enjoy the fruits of my labor over the winter months, and fully prepare for a better grow season next year. And the reason that all depends on these babies is because If I get a male, Im going to very carefully impregnate ONE female(I do have 12 sprouts...but I hope most are female of course but I do want ONE male at least...not that its really up to me...) so that I will have seeds for next year. However, come to think of it, I guess I could just buy the seeds from over the net, but I'd still really like this group to be successful!! :joint:

Haha I was just thinking, its funny how our enjoyment of this plant has turned us into botanists... growing and trying to sustain life...whata wonderful thing lol ;-)

lol I know exactly what you mean. I felt the same way when I started my first grow and just as you do, I hope my babies grow to be pretty strong females with the chance of one hercules sprouting from the bunch in order to assure my new seeds are of good quality.

Ive only had to spend $50 is all youd really need to get an alright grow room goin. Aslong as you use cfl's and they save on power sooooo much. and there not very expensive, i paid like $15 for 6 23 watt 1600 lumen bulbs. Of course that wouldnt be enough for good flowering. But, u can veg oretty well that way. jus get some with some reflectors to increase efficency. the reflectors i got cost $10 each, there big metal shiny ones with pug ins and everything, and clips on the back so u can hang them up wherever

Man, the EXACT same thing happened with my plants, and I had to use twist ties as well. I had them under a weak fluorescent because they sprouted sooner than I expected and my light wasn't here yet. I was using miracle grow organic potting mix too, looks like that might be what you are using. once my light came and I got some better soil (roots organic 707) they started doing great. So try to get them more light and don't water them much with that soil, it doesn't look like it drains very well.
