So with a 400 watt bulb in there, it gets a little hot humid. Right now I leave the flaps open during the day, and turn off the lights for 6 hours at night. Osc fan as well.

Buying a 6" vortex fan for ventilation. Will I need to run the thing full blast? I'm getting a rheostat as well and I'm hoping I can use it.

Enclosed balcony. Faces east so I only get sunlight in early morning. Shade from about 8:00 AM onwards. Got some heat and humidity problems when I zip it up so I'm getting the vortex. I'll post more pics when I get it set up.

vortex are noisy....wouldnt think it'd be ideal for outside

good luck man.

you may have to invest in a dehumidifer

I'm getting a rheostat so I hope I can run it at a lower speed. My back up plan is I'll run the lights during the day and just leave the flaps open. Close it up for 12 hours at night.

Hoping the vortex is not much louder than an air conditioner.

I just unpacked my 6" vortex. Didn't realize the thing was so big. Glad I got that rheostat. Glad I got a backup plan.

but for why would you wanna use mh only for flowering?

not trashing you, just seeing why you wanna go that route

that was just a sales pitch.

as long as you have quality bulbs and ballast, you can run most mh and hps bulbs with no problem

So I'm going to try this setup. The vortex hums a little but not really a problem. My balcony is 15 stories up over a major highway so there's also traffic noise.

I'm going to leave the vortex sitting in the bucket with the porthole flap open, run some duct from the vortex, throught the Hydrofarm and then out the other side.

Think I'm all set. The Hydrofarm housing is much cooler to touch.
