my little tent.

Hey guys! first time growing here, i got a few seeds germinating as we speeak!
5x liberty haze
1 x pre98 bubba
3x think different

hope they do well, 3 of them are in the cup trick and rest are toweled up.

anyways i will be doing this in a 4x6 tent, what are you're thoughts of a 600 watt? perhaps 1000watt? (i want the best grow, period, this is for personal use.) with a 300 watt led or 2x90's (something cheap off ebay) light setup or something that will fit with a 2 light set up. either way what are your thoughts? i just want the best bud with best yield!

it will be done in the basement, so the temp conditions are rather chilly. i would say about 15-18 degrees Celsius. so i would hope the lights raise the temp up a little.

what are your thoughts as well for vegging? well i have't even gotten that far yet, but i am eager! i am thinking something like this, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwgaPnCUiFo or should i just do old school soil, water with light? i was thinking the water hydroponics will get the roots and vegetative growth really roarin, and big and juicy since i will be adding some root stimulant(?) to it as well. than i plan on moving them over to pots of coco mix if that is a good idea?

at the moment i purchased the floratonic 3pack nute, don't know if i can keep using them if i choose aqua, but how are they? will move on to AN after trust me.

please be real and direct with me, i dont mind the harshness.

anything onwards, is really beyond me, i'm planning to add to the tent as i go, and these babies mature.

Hey, you seem to have your head screwed on tightly, so dont know how much help i could be.

i did notice your talking either 600 or 1000w, well you will most certainly need an extraction system, and a small clip on fan for between the canopy and the bulb. If i was using a 1000w it would have to be an air cooled one, as what ,,you have 1.2x2 meter tent. So heat build up would be an issue.

Yeah 15 degree C is really as low as you want your temps to go, during the dark for example. So maybe do what i do, run your hps at night, so e.g. 10 pm -10 am to ensure the tent stays warm at night. Then during the day it will be easier to control the temp. variation.

I havnt used floratonic so wont comment. Am using up A.N. J.J Micro and bloom, dose the job you know.

Also i would say, and this is just me, id use the led for veg, and the hps for flower. Leds require a far bit of l.s.t to get the most outta them.

Yeah heat will be a big problem with such big lights, as for the rest well you got me there, lol.

EDIT: Best peice of advise I have read on RIU for new growers, keep it simple, don't over think it.

sounds good, If you want the most bang for your buck go with the 1000w, just be prepared to have your ventilation spot on.

lol i think where i keep the seeds, is a little chilly, so i moved it by the tv and ps3. hope they come out soon!

will keep you guys updated. and do first time growers do journals/logs? may just do one.

do a journal!! it's fun and a good way to track stuff if you forget to keep a paper journal. and people can comment and ask questions and shit and you learn a lot that way.
there's a guy here who uses LEDs, Prosperian. look him up and check out his threads. he has a clean ass setup and knows his stuff. sounds like you're not too shabby yourself.
